I've been in a job that I quite like since last October. There's another, similar job within my firm going, it's better money and in a different area which would remove the things that most piss me off in my current role (tied to a yearly cycle doing the same shit, having to speak to external auditors all the time). I didn't think I had the experience but after speaking to the manager in the new job she said I'd be a good fit and really encouraged me to apply. Is it a bit cheeky to try and move out of a job I've only had for 9 months or so internally or f**k em?

f**k em. Apply your way up and learn as you go.

Absolutely, plenty of managers/companies view that as ambition rather than take any offense. The manager encouragement is simply a green light. Worst case, you gain visibility within the company as being eager to “improve” yourself.

Sounds like this new manager wants a bit of Clarence. Get her pumped!

When it comes to non-ISA savings accounts, do basic rate and higher rate taxpayers lose 20% and 42% of their interest gain, respectively?

*assuming that the interest gained doesn't push them into the next tax band.

What’s worse; British Tennis or British Cricket

Cricket is a fake sport enjoyed only by the English and places England has colonised. And they're bad at it. I don't think this answers the question but it's worth pointing out.

The oldest Scottish Cricket club was formed in the 1820s (Kelso).

A lot of Scottish football clubs were formed when cricketers looked for something to do in the winter.

I wouldn't see Annabel Croft stuck but Gabi Sabbatini still looks hot..

You might be right, but not THIS planet.

A stroll along the Portobello prom when the beach volleyball is on would disabuse you of your opinion, and I'm not even saying that volleyball is the best sport on the planet.

Anyone know a way to search for films by runtime and UK certificate? There's a mystery film on tonight, and that's the only info available. Don't fancy dragging myself out and getting stuck in a showing of some shite romcom.

The IMDb is useless, as their runtimes are all for the US and are different to the UK, and the BBFC have crippled their search functionality.

If it’s 1+54 and a 12A, skip it.
