NotThePars
The Argos store is the Neds favourite jewellers. Sorted big man! I thought Argos would be a good bet. I'll have a walk over at some point. Cheers.
Spain
Anyone got any experience of renting a flat (or 2) short-term in Edinburgh? it's for new year but guess the same would apply during the festival. If so, how did you go about it? It's not for me, someone I know who doesn't live in Scotland has asked me- would be for 7-10 folk. Guessing it'll be extortionate, but maybe still less so than hotels. edit: we're talking a week maximum here, maybe even a couple of days less. I've used Ocean Apartments a few times before, but only for weekends. Once during the festival (but was actually for the Hibs v County cup game) and the prices were the same regardless of demand. Decent value actually. Not sure how much it will be over new year though. Edit: A quick search shows 2 apartments, arriving on the 30th, for 7 nights is £2,752. So that's £275.20 each, for a whole week and over New Year, that isn't bad. Edited October 29, 2012 by Spain
SoapMactavish
Go to A&E after 6pm and demand a CT scan. If you go before 6 they'll refer you to your GP. Trust me on this one, do it today. Yeah 'cos this will happen. CT scans after 6pm are only for real emergencies, you know like stroke victims or people with serious head injuries.

ShakehandsTom - DFC
I've had a wee look around the stagecoach website with little joy, so can anyone tell me either how much, or where to find out how much a return from Glasgow to Dunfermline by bus would be on a Saturday? Muchos thanks.

Uncle Psychosis
I've got a plasterer in doing some work on my house at the minute. He's doing a good job and he mentioned in passing its his birthday this week. would buying him a 6 pack of beers be filed under "sound thing to do" or "bit creepy"?

Bert Raccoon
Beers always good, unless you're a recovering alcoholic of course. Does he have a steady hand when he's working?

Dee Man
Has anyone been to Bradford before? Went down years ago to see Redman and Das EFX. Shit hole of a town where the natives have stupid accents. You won't struggle to find an Indian restaurant though.
Granny Danger
( Has anyone been to Bradford before? Been there once on business and it's not the sort of place I'd want to go back to unless I had too. Nothing bad just very dreary. Huge asian population and at the risk of sounding xenophobic it's the only place I've been to in the UK that didn't feel like the UK* due to the influence of outside cultures. If the object of a multi-cultural society is to encourage integration Bradford is not the answer. * I was in a holiday resort in Spain some years ago where large parts of where like a little England. It housed large numbers of retired and working British (mainly English) people and there appeared to be no attempt to integrate.

We're only planning on staying the one night so I was wondering if there was anything interesting to do apart from go to the football. Pub and a meal (probably Indian going by your answers) it is.
Smurph
You could do worse than going for a curry. It's retained its title again Curry Capital 2012 Might just do a curry crawl.

Spain
Just by him a pack of these I skipped reading the quote and assumed you were suggesting the guy going on a curry crawl should wear plasters instead of taking a spare pair of pants! I was bemused why anyone would suggest such a horrendous thing.
Hedgecutter
(Roughly) how much does it cost to hire a coach with driver for a day? Nice ones ideally. Eta: This would be for Aberdeen to Lossie or St Andrews for example, that sort of distance. Edited November 2, 2012 by Hedgecutter
