JAR
Another awful, stupid "performance" by us. I kept on expecting one of those trundling cross field balls to stick in the mud & give them a tap in. I would suggest that the worst passer has to wear a yellow top in training the next week but sometimes that would be most of the team. There must be an analysis done on the pointless pass backs & remedial action taken. They have to adapt to circumstances & not try to play like Man City on the tv.

CALDERON
It's not as simple as other teams wanting it more, but there is a, worrying correlation between teams who are well organised, structured and hard working, with our league defeats. Every team that has beaten us has pressed us effectively at the back where we try to build up the play. And in every one of those games we have persisted with it, even when it becomes abundantly clear it isn't working. A bit baffled as to why we didn't persist with the formation that worked against Morton, but there was a clear disconnect between the managers pre match words and what we saw. Mcglynn mentioned "attitude" and "can't always try to play nice football" in his post match comments, so it appears that something went missing. Backed up by Paul Smith going absolutely fucking mental after one of those dreadful short free kicks. Bit concerned about some "we have just come up from League 1" comments. Can kind of accept that after a defeat from, say, Hearts. However not after a game against a side who have been near the bottom most of the season, who frankly out fought us. Especially after a transfer window where the manager was well backed, and to be frank there is enough changes from last season for that excuse to hold much water. We've been largely very good this season and deservedly drew a lot of plaudits and praise, but it is slightly concerning that the way to defeat this team is becoming clearer.

Every point well made and sums up my perception of what is happening. No sooner do we get a lift than we're subjected to a lethargic shambolic no show. The incredulous thing is that McGlynn actually saw the danger and claimed to have taken precautions to avoid it. Teams now know that we've no stomach forfacing high pressing tactics. It's guaranteed Ayr will do that on Saturday.
