I had a nap earlier.

Was an absolutely massive struggle to get up from it though. I was incredibly drowsy and keep on falling back asleep after waking up for a few seconds.

Genuinely must have spent at least 25 minutes just trying to get up, including one point where I did get up and go through to the living room to discover that the TV was on and was showing an interview with Hearts legend John Robertson who said that, after the heartbreak of losing the 1954 Scottish Cup final to Rangers, he was glad to get revenge in the 2000 final, even though Gordon Durie put Rangers ahead (a clip was shown of this; the Hearts keeper did a backflip on to his stomach in frustration after it). Felt incredibly real but obviously I was still asleep.

Finally managed to stay awake almost by forcing it one eye at a time. Feel pretty tired now.

Am I dying?

Been reading @RandomGuy's posts?

Thank you.

I get mad, vivid dreams and struggle to wake up when I'm dehydrated - is this a possibility?

I wonder if it ever becomes legal, which seems at least plausible, how will it be treated in regards to D&A testing. Will workplaces be forced to accept a tolerable level rather than zero?

They don't here. The workplaces that conduct D&A testing treat it the same as alcohol so any in your system means you're out. Of course, weed takes longer to clear so if you work at one of these places, you just have to stay aff it, legal or not. My work doesn't conduct testing unless you're in an accident. Any weed or alcohol in your system means you lose the right to compensation.

I fairly often think about the women, unattainably beautiful in 1994, who might still have something about them and were our paths to cross I'd maybe have more of a chance. I don't feel good about myself when I catch myself working out the rough probabilities.
If it helps, you have much less of a chance with them than you might imagine.

Liz Phair:

Liz Phair announces dates (NYC & NJ shows on sale)

There was a guy at our school with a similar surname - Johnny Phairs. I don't think he was the smartest of chaps and wrote the first letter of his surname in reverse and was then forever known as Johnny 9 hairs.

My wife and I met a Scottish couple while out at a Chinese restaurant on Saturday night. After asking if we smoked weed (to which the wife replied in the affirmative - I can't hack it anymore) the guy pulled out a massive plastic ziplock bag which probably had at least 3oz in it and gave the wife a handful. It's still sitting in her handbag untouched.

I dint really know how prevalent weed smoking is these days, but I genuinely wish I could do it. I have for my entire working life worked under the threat of D&A testing. If I didnt, I defninely would be giving it a go. Despite dabbling higher up the alphabet in my younger days, I havent really tried it many times. I cant really see a down side other than having to smoke.

Meanwhile in Amsterdam... My neighbours current crop, he's usually nice enough to offer some free samples.

That's covered by having to smoke, which is fucking stinking in all its guises.

My theoretical dalliances with the grass would only ever be at night, at home with no intention of going anywhere or having anyone see/smell me.

My brother who works in trades tells me that a significant proportion of his colleagues smoke weed wherever he goes.  However, they've cut back big time just now as a number of firms are evidently currently going OTT on drugs testing in the hope they can just fire folk rather than go down the redundancy route with all the compensation that entails.
