Granny Danger
Due to the presidential election I have been looking at things USA more this year than normal. This has highlighted again the fixation with religion in the states, and its ubiquitous. Democrat, Republican and Independent; rich, poor and those in between; all genders, all races, all creeds, all colours, all sexualities - they all seem to have a majority that are sky fairy worshippers of some kind. This is the richest and most powerful country in the world with a very high standard of education including further and higher education. For years the people in the U.K. have been moving towards agnosticism/atheism. Will these god besotted lot ever follow suit. -
Hedgecutter
Bizarre I know, but I find the Dudley Moore Santa Claus film incredibly creepy and unsettling. I don't know if it's the way it's filmed, or because it was never part of my childhood Christmas and just somebody else's*, but I find it incredibly unnerving to a level I have to change the channel.*A bit like how your cousins have a grandmother who is completely unrelated to you, and hearing them referring to them as 'granny' would weird you out as a kid.
buchan30
Mrs b is nightshift and has left me and the boys a wee xmas treats box which is basically sweets and a “yes sir i can boogie” buff with the great Stevie Clarkes coupon on it.
Sigma
I was today years old when I discovered that Rockin All Over the World by Status Quo is actually a cover song that was originally done by John Fogerty from Creedence Clearwater Revival. This sort of thing: Only problem is, when I hear anything by big Barry I have an immediate Pavlovian response. In the olden days Barry White = Nat King Cole.

Genuine Hibs Fan
Is it possible to get jetlag by proxy or am I just a big excitable Christmas laddie? Gf got home from Oregon the other day and has slipped into pretty regular sleeping pattern straight away, but I've been wide awake since 5 and get exhausted by 7 in the evening

Oh yes, beer wine and gin. What proportion are you allocating to each of those to stay within your nhs approved 14 units per week limit?......you know the sort of advice you no doubt give out regularly in the day job?? Merry Christmas. (Asking for a friend).

RH33
My kids aren’t back until 4pm. So far I’ve slept late, eaten toast and had a nap!
