ForzaDundee Posted October 26, 2014 Share Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) That's pretty cool man. I was discussing gaelic recently, I think it's good people learn it to preserve the language. Personally I think it should be taught in all Scottish schools to some level. It obviously bares little use outside of Scotland, but I think it's good to learn to understand and become closer to our national heritage. I met a few Welsh lassies on holiday years ago and they spoke fluent Welsh. It was pretty impressive, and I was pretty envious I couldn't speak my own celtic language. Just like the thought of some cretin giving it the "What's the point in Gaelic, nobody speaks it anyway" and me being able to pop up with "I do". Such scenes. Much seethe. Think I'll be able to cause all kinds of seethe with just a few basic phrases. chomp my root Posted October 26, 2014 Share Posted October 26, 2014 Historically us lowlanders didn't speak it, it was a teuchter language, I considered it years ago too and tossed it off because I'm lazy and also thought it would be a bit 'false'. Point taken. I do however doubt that Forza's ultimate goal is to troll people with his new found knowledge, and that he probably has a keen interest/appreciation for Gaelic. I pass through on average once a month. Wasn't here during this summer's dry spell mind - or was that why it was dry?
