After numerous months and email after email with Ryanair, they've eventually paid me my flights back. The last correspondence - about two weeks ago - was me writing "You've got my signature on the copy of my passport, on the copy of my driving licence which tally up with my address on both and on my copy of my latest p60. I don't have to print off and sign any more paperwork for you and if this continues any more I will have no choice but to escalate it further"

Got a reply about half an hour later basically saying print and sign off another couple of pages or you're getting nothing.

Left it, totally forgot about it tbh and just received an email saying my money is now on its way and "thank you for your help".

Cunts.

We moved house in December and the previous owners left loads of stuff. A whole shed and garage full of crap. Some it it turned out useful, for example, they left two sledges which we used when it snowed a couple of weeks after we were in.

They also left some tools that I’ve got some use out of. Loads of tons of paint and pieces of wood, a ladder for getting on the roof. They also left several large pieces of furniture that we’ve had to use.

Similar situation here, and I'm glad they left it.  When I see the price of minor bits and bobs whenever in a DIY store, it reminds me that the previous owners must have left us several hundred pounds worth of 'shite' that is gradually finding use as time goes on.

On a complete tangent, I keep hearing a phantom landline phone ring when I'm upstairs (same ring tone).  My other half says nobody had called and she's heard nothing (she's currently working beside the landline, so would know), but then the phone actually rang as soon as she said that.

What is the point of the phrase “...when I was younger...”?
Unless you’re a fucking time traveler of course it HAS to be when you were younger!
That's a post you probably posted when you were younger.

Driving by a naval base yesterday I was surprised to see a number of dead bodies strewn around the grounds. My immediate thoughts were that it was some “active shooter” gun nutter on the rampage. The victims were all in some sort of coastguard clothing. Stopped to see if there was any sign of the culprit in the hope I could give them a telling-off or just run them over. Then I saw it was just navy/air rescue types practising some sort of first aid rescue on realistic dummies and the dream of being a have a go hero were dashed.

The realistic scenario:

Rasputin sees bodies

Decides to become have a go hero

Gets out of car and crouches down behind it to assess situation

Gets run over by own car because he's forgotten to put the handbrake on
