Apologies for the cliched and slightly embarrassing statement, but it applies here, Falkirk are too big to go down. You'll revamp the squad if required come January and make 8th in the absolute worst case scenario. As it is, I reckon you'll keep Hartley, end up finishing 5th or 6th and all be feeling demoralised going into next season. No my friend. You are basing this on the often seen “lose three games in a row then slowly recover” scenario. Unless you were there on Saturday, you have no idea how utterly appalling our side is. Look at the stats...at home.....against a side that are unlikely to feature in the play offs. They had 27 shots on our goal, 11 of them were goals or good saves by our keeper. In response, we had 3 shots......none on target yet again. What Hartley is fielding, what our BoD has sanctioned is truly horrific. One or two new players won’t rescue this shower. 16 players brought in. Being generous, 4 are good enough for Championship today. 4 might be good enough in a year or two’s time. The other 8 are simply out of their depth, and shouldn’t be at the club. Simple as that. Add on the ones we have kept. Jesus wept, it’s bad. Once again, we have given the keys to the sweetie shop to people who clearly didn’t know what they were doing.

ilostmyself
There's just no redeeming features about the side. Normally in a poor team you can pick out x, y and z of what needs to change but it's absolutely uniformly terrible. No idea what a new manager could do either as we are stuck with this lot. Anyone have any idea who's on 1 or 2 year deals?

Guest
For some of the English lads, it might well end up with “contract terminated by mutual agreement”. For a few, being “in another country” while everything around them goes to hell in a hand basket might be too much to take. For our sakes and theirs, that might be the best possible outcome.
Bigbrbairn
We'll, the scouts not clueless given he previously headed Ross counties scouting in England. So that leaves Hartley clearing out too many players and spreading his budget too thing. Should have been 8 or 9 new players tops, with what we already had rolled in. Isn't hindsight wonderful. Think the problem is despite being offered contracts good players chose to go somewhere Hartley isn’t

Problem is if you look at all those that have left us by mutual consent virtually every one is followed by them signing for another team 2mins later. Its onviously find another team. You jave great heres a few quid to help . Who is going to take the likes of petra, toe or dallison off us. At least craigen and austin had past records to get teams interested.

If he was scout for RC in the top flight, then clearly he made a total ar5e of that too, as they are now in the Championship just like us. I am sure Sugardaddy Roy will have given him enough money to play with. Mitchell sounds like a guy who can talk a good job but ultimately deliver zilch. Also note he is no longer connected with them. Anyone bother to ask why?

According to the official website: Fasan, Brough, Mackin, Lewis, Owen-Evans, Greenwood, Sammut (loan) , Haber (loan) - One year deals. Froxylias too is a one year deal but club has option to extend for another year. Turner (who?) and Irving (loans) are here till January. Mark Russell is also only here till January. Website states McGhee, O'Hara, Kidd, Robson and Muirhead all signed one year extensions at the start of the season, whilst Mutch signed on until 2021. Harrison, Paton, Petravicius (), Dallison - Two year deals From the rest, David Mitchell, Alex Harris and Joe McKee all signed two-year contracts last summer so theirs will expire at the end of this season too. Interesting too to note that Cieran Dunne (who was included on the first-team page last season) has been taken off, even though he's still at the club. No idea when his contract runs until right enough. Edited August 27, 2018 by 18BAIRN76
Guest
Isn’t it amazing that we have had this massive clear out, yet two of what was considered the “deadwood” players are still with us, and we have actually gone out and signed something like another four or five deadwood players. It just defies logic. Not only that, but if Hartley is allowed more signings, they will be players who are brought in not to complete the squad, but to immediately replace the players Hartley signed two or three months ago! How mental is that? Edited August 27, 2018 by Duncan Freemason
Russ
2 year deal for Paul Paton [emoji24].Really tried to be positive about his signing and his performances so far but that was possibly the most embarrassing individual performance I’ve seen from a Falkirk player. Picked up a stupid booking from a ridiculous tackle in the first half and then spent the entirety of the second half actively hiding from the ball. Whenever one of our defenders had the ball he’s go and stand beside a Queens player so he couldn’t get the ball.Shitebag of the highest order.

If we can somehow stay in the division then we'll have another deluge of signings next year.

TheScarf
Paul Paton is probably in the top 5 worst players in the whole of the SPFL. An absolute haddie.
JinkyBairn
The fact we’re only 3 games in, yet already talking about next season shows how grim this situation really is. I still cannot believe what PH has assembled over the summer. Most of his recruitments last season gave me hope for the new signings. But somehow we’ve ended up in a bigger mess than when PH first took over.
