Keeper is a problem position.

Our defence could shape up a bit better in the future, with wingbacks/fullbacks covered by Doig, Patterson, Ramsay, Hickey and of course Robertson and Tierney. In the middle we'll still have Tierney and I'd like to think Welsh, Hamilton and Morrison could continue to develop in the former case and fulfill the potential in the latter two. Is there a young player in the Hanley/Gallagher mould though who has more of that physical presence?

Midfield should be OK, we generally look to be bringing through a better standard here with the likes of Turnbull and Ferguson compared to the array of shitkickers and stodge we've occasionally had to use in the past. Although it would be good to see a shithouse sitting midfielder coming through.

Up front seems like another continued problem area.

I'm obviously biased as a hibs fan but think we'll see Porteous playing that role regularly for Scotland in a couple of years.

At least if he keeps up his development trajectory of the past couple of seasons.

Jamie Hamilton is fairly blood and snotters is he not?

Good info, I hadn't heard of a couple of these guys so some to look out for.
What about for centre back Kerr Smith of Dundee utd. Or Liam Morrison at bayern ahead of Welsh?

Kerr Smith still sounds like a centre back pairing to me. Get this surname for a forename pish in the sea.

Would it be optimistic/stupid to hope for McKenna to have a Hanley-style redemption in a few years?

Scott McKenna is only 24 and any time he has come in he hasn't let us down. Grant Hanley and Jack Hendry's stories should be enough evidence to deter hasty judgements as to whether our centre backs can cut it. Additionally, who knows what impact Chris Hughton being sacked at Nottingham Forest will have Scott McKenna's career.

He was also absolutely guff at Hibs, Ross Laidlaw is a better goalkeeper.

Can’t wait to see Elliott Philadelphia lift the 2026 World Cup.

Jack Elliott is sitting third with Phillidelphia and keeping a current Scottish International out the team in Stuart Findlay

Elliott is just as good a shout as everyone that is on the Ryan Gauld gravy train might even be better because we should be looking for another quality center half that has presence and pace
