ChrispPancake
Surely the SFL must delay the vote until next week after the SPL admit either Dundee or that rotten cabbage patch mob fi Fife. That way the SFL can then sort out all the ups and doons in SFL1,2 and 3 and hey presto a free place appears at the bottom of SFL3. Then when SFL1 and 2 are full the vote can only be "do you want Sevco5588 in the SFL3 available slot". They then say, as per constitutional rules, "no, we must assess their application alongside any other club which wishes to apply to the existing rules for entry to the SFL." It would inevitably delay the start of the SFL3 league season but would not have to delay the start of the SFL1 or 2 league seasons. One could argue that a financial payment could be made to the SFL3 clubs for the delayed start and possibly a shorter season, or just let them be out of kilter by a couple of weeks. No bias, no dishonesty, no leverages. If the SevCo5588 get in, not a single person can argue.

MattBairn
No bias, no dishonesty, no leverages. If the SevCo5588 get in, not a single person can argue. Unless you're an Airdrie Utd supporter. They were denied their appeal to access the 3rd division in 2002. From what I recall it was to discourage teams using liquidation as a way to leave debt and start again in div 3. Surely if thats the case with them, it should be the same with Newco/Sevco.
Forever Diamond
What ever happened to the SFA punishment.Remember the transfer embargo thing that Duff and Duffer went to court about.Has it just been quietly forgotten about? The club who received that punishment are no longer in existence in a footballing capacity. That's my understanding anyway. Yet they still bleat on about keeping their history.

Why do you think they haven't filled the SPL slot already - this plays into the hands of the SFL in exactly the way you describe. Can't have the vacant spot in SFL3! Think of the erm...(gets Seville calculator)...millions of pounds it will cost Scottish Football!!!!
killingfloorman
A 'No' vote to Resolution 1 means Sevco don't play in the SFL. I hope it goes that way and the we get to watch Regan and Doncaster shit themselves. Doncaster and Regan should be stripped, tarred & feathered and sent back over the border on foot.
adundeemonkey
Seemingly McDougal said he expect his club will vote YES to Newco. Leish needs to come out and say he is against these proposals otherwise his legacy at Dunfermline will be destroyed. -
Fife Saint
Yet they still bleat on about keeping their history. Another case of denial, I'm afraid. They're dead as a deceased dodo.
MattBairn
Yet they still bleat on about keeping their history. If they wish to keep their history then surely the HMRC etc can also still go for them too then?
killingfloorman
You know if it does happen, the gates will be firmly closed to prevent it happening again. Who would close them? Surely not the same clubs who would benefit from 'doing a sevco'?
Itwiznaeme
Excuse my ignorance but whats happening with the BIG tax case and the EBTs? Is that nothing to do with Sevco given that they're a 'new' club or can the HMRC etc still go after them? If they continue to use the same trading name "Rangers" to make money yes HMRC along with all other creditors will most definitely hound them forever. Very few of the fans of the diseased club will accept this fact though!

davieholt
Yet they still bleat on about keeping their history. They're fine. Duff & Duffer claim that they sold the 'business, history and assets' to Sevco. So we are all telt. End of discussion

weirdcal
Yet they still bleat on about keeping their history. As it stands their history is 50+ league titles 1 Cup winners cup 1 Manchester riot and 130m pounds of debt. If they want it, it's all or nothing

Great idea there in this money driven football age They'd probably get more for it than an spl game would generate

Only A Game !
1342031267[/url]' post='6419600']Why? Okay, we assume Rangers would fill the stadium. Would Dundee ? Possibly if they were doing well. Would Dunfermline ?
Fife Saint
The short-termism displayed by the football authorities and press is nothing short of shameful. Rangers and Celtic cultivated sectarian culture for decades completely unchecked. They built up huge supports in doing so. Now it's gone tits up, Scotland needs a period of time for attitudes to change. Instead what will happen is the press and relevant cartel authorities slamming the game rather than letting it grow without the encumberance of sectarianism. What a fantastic summer we're having.
