Sons' sorrow

Recommended Posts

This game tonight could shape the rest of the season for us - money generated in a game against Aberdeen could get us a couple of players in surely.  If we lose then Duffy needs to resign.

Regardless of what former players and kitmen say about the Duff, he is responsible for this mess.

Sad to think just a few years ago we were drawing at Easter Road and Tannadice, beating St Mirren on the regular, and now we look like a pub team for the most part.

There are a few players I wouldn't criticise for where we are, but their jobs are becoming very difficult due to the lack of bodies and the quality of the ones that are there around them.

I've signed up to watch you's play Huntly tonight. Hopefully an entertaining game and the Sons get the win! Big incentive in Aberdeen in the next round

"Entertaining"?

We've been hoping for entertainment under Duffy for the past 2 years, its yet to materialise. Suppose for a neutral the entertainment will be figuring out where the hell the payers are meant to be playing and watching our GK do things that will astound you!

Hopefully Duffy gives his players free rein tonight being a cup tie against lower league opposition. Does Ramsbottom start? Did think he might get "rested"

To be fair, the neutrals have had fair entertainment from us since we've returned. Ramsbottom trying a Rene Higuita and missing it isn't off the cards this evening.

I really miss Sam Stanton's mazy runs through midfield. Not expecting anything nearly as good but it would be nice to see someone beat an opposition player for pace and skill.

Been too long since you've loaned any of our lot, so go for Alex Ferguson.

Scrawny wee CM who's already on the verge of our squad at just 17. Seemingly spends training sessions ripping the pish and nutmegging folk for fun.

Duffy would play him CB just for a laugh, or maybe even up front and get us firing aimless long balls up the park for him.

He played for Forfar in our recent friendly with Elgin looked OK.

BTW just noticed Huntly were 8/1 tonight, if you take a double of Huntly and Keith (playing clyde) it pays a mouth watering 45/1.

That's some odds. HL guys barely played in 12 months. Sons will beat Huntly. I'd fancy Formartine to beat Annan though.

Sure it was him?

Know you have Jordan Northcott on loan from us now, and had John Robertson. Had no idea Ferguson had been playing elsewhere.

Cheers, hoping he gets a loan soon to see how he gets on. Hype around him is, relatively, huge for a Saints youngster.

Its been said repeatedly, but our commentary really is quality.

Hopefully this gives us a bit of a confidence boost. I don't even care that its against Huntly, there's been so little to cheer lately that you have to take it when it comes along.

Also be handy if Peterhead could take their game to extra time.

ETA: Get it right round you, Ann Budge!
