The reserve version was on for £6 a bottle not too long ago; pretty decent stuff. I bought a bottle of Rioja in Ibiza last year for the equivalent of £1.40 thinking it might be worth trying. Hampden Diehard Posted February 10, 2016 Share Posted February 10, 2016 Yeah that's the one - it's always cheaper in Scotmid for some reason. At Tesco and Asda it is £8 or £9. Usually spend £6.50 maximum per bottle of wine unless it's a special occasion. A few years ago I was drinking £3.40 bottles but they would chew my insides up nowadays! Back in my financially challenging times 6 or 7 years ago, I used to be able to buy two bottles of Bulgarian red for a fiver at my local Asian-owned emporium. One step up from paint stripper mixed with Ribena but they did the business. But not the next morning and I suffered terribly. Terribly. Tanking just one of them provoked a serious internal reaction and I couldn't leave the house until nature had taken its course the next day.
