Eednud Posted March 17 Share Posted March 17 CUP NEWS It’s almost Cup time and the cunning plan is it will be a straight knock-out tournament. As usual some ties will need to be a ménage à trois. The draw for first round of the Rupe’s Engagement Cup will be posted within the next 24 hours or more. The winners obviously head to the second round but the losers will participate in the Not a White Wedding Cup with the losers in this one heading to the Divorce Court Cup. This means that most participants are guaranteed at least 3 cup ties. There might be replays for drawn ties or depending on how many there were both might proceed to the next round. The quiz will use the questions from The Australian newspaper of the day. This means a lot of cut and pasting and/or typing for me. Anyone not participating in the Cup will have 10 points deducted from their total league score for that week. So two cup rounds in one week and potential 20 point deduction. There will be a few invited participants who will all be part of a three way tie in the early rounds and obviously won’t be penalised any points if any of the C U Next Tuesdays spit the dummy.
