cal234ey
That interview. Will not be amused if we lose to a team managed by TC.
gav-ffc
Yeah, I find it hard to take any Saints fan seriously who has a pop at Gilmour. This guy played a huge role in saving us from being consigned to the history books and that should never be forgotten. Thanks might be bad now, but they've been a lot, lot, worse. It might sound melodramatic now for some of our younger fans, but at least we'll have a debt free club that owns it's own ground and training facilities to support next season, regardless of what division we're playing in. There was a time when most of us would've killed for that. As others have indicated it's the fact that things have rarely looked better for us off the pitch and we're regressing on it that leaves a bad taste in the mouth and leads to fans getting frustrated. I wasn't at the AGM but have relatives who were, but reading between the lines it seems many of the board recognise they've made an error with regards to TC. Negligence to give the old duffer a 2 year deal though when we've always had rolling contracts recently. You would hope he'd do the decent thing soon if it's not happening but that doesn't sound likely. Sounds like us when we got relegated under May/Pressley. Off the park is excellent but regressing year by year on it.
Stu
Good news at last for Tommy Craig. Ewan Murray from the Guardian doesn't like him so that should win him a few fans back.
NorthBank
When the Fans' buyout was being mooted there were a lot of good ideas kicking about to generate income. However they required investment and how profitable they would be remains to be seen. A point of note is that allegedly St Johnstone generate £1m per annum more than us from commercial activities with 5 staff more than us working on income generation. Surely this is something that we could emulate? Ideas included- - We have a new stadium with half the main stand lying empty (referred to as the Void) which could be developed into bar/cafe/restaurant facilities or opening a commercial gym or conference room in the space. - Really embracing the local community with rooms for rent and encourage the local community to use the facilities 24/7 instead a few hours every second Saturday. Offer things like a creche, after-school club etc. Entice local clubs to rent rooms (photographic club etc etc). There was even talk of allowing a Church to hold its services there. - Having closer links to local amateur/Junior teams and sports clubs through coaching sessions, fitness, nuitrition advice, first aid training etc. - Establish a Ladies team. - Use the huge carpark for Saturday/Sunday morning markets or other events. - Use spare land for more all weather pitches for hire. - Even a small hotel as we are next to the airport and M8. Basically have enough diverse activities on offer and facilities to entice and cater for people of which a small percentage may be football fans but by using the stadium they may become additional supporters. I think there is great potential there. But you need the £2M to buy then more cash to develop. Crazy when you think people like Mike Ashley spunk £3M in TFKAR when they could own a Club and develop it for the same amount.
houston_bud
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/30284179 "A centre half would be the order of the day, another forward who can put the ball in the back of the net would be nice, and who knows, a midfielder. So you're looking at the three departments." Sounds like Tommy has it all sorted. No need to panic.

P45
Oor Tam is surely making a bold push to be considered one of the worst top flight managers of all time. We only had 2 points after 14 games in 2003 under Gerry Collins Tommy Craig is a tactical mastermind compared to that fud.

professor challenger
SOS Owen Coyle. That`s not actually a bad shout. The current situation can`t continue and worse, he`s inflicted Inverness on us in February.
Ludo*1
If Owen Coyle is turning Motherwell down without even speaking to them, what makes you think St Mirren have a chance? Even if he is from Paisley.
