They are both superb players heading towards the twilight of their careers. Ronaldo's goalscoring in Serie A (it's not a public btw you fucking simpleton) is impressive, until you realise the extent to which it's topped up by dodgy Juve penalties.

Aye.

31 goals in 33 Serie A games sounds great. Then you remove the 12 penalties he scored.

Is a record of 19 open play goals in 33 games for a side chasing 10 in a row that great?

Messi fired in about 4 crosses in a row that last night that were planted in on the six yard line, yet Barca didn't score a single goal from them. Is that Messis fault?

Hes surrounded by absolute fucking dross. Sergi Roberto is an embarrassment from La Masia and is only there as they need somebody in their team from the youth set up. Vidal is nowhere near good good enough, and Suarez has been finished for at least two years.

Messi is playing beside a striker who can't run, and in front of midfielders who can't pass, while Ronaldo is playing beside one of the best players on the planet in Dybala, and has players bursting a gut all around him to create chances.

Can’t wait for Qatar when you question how Messi is expected to win anything when he’s playing with a hopeless team. Dybala will certainly not be ‘one of the best players in the world,’ when you’re defending Messi having another flop with Argentina.

Dybala is not one of the best players in the world but in Qatar Messi will be 35 and it will be a million degrees. He might not even be playing for Argentina by then.

he's not even a nailed-on starter when fit.

By a mental manager who's now been punted for a youth coach.

Dybala is quite clearly one of the best attackers on the planet.

He's not, he looked like he was going to be but is too inconsistent and temperamental. On his day top drawer but to be top drawer it needs to be your day most weeks and he doesn't have that so far in his career.  Also struggles as he doesn't have a nailed on position.

Messi has given enough years to Barcelona and should go to the best possible team and just go all out to make sure he goes down as a better player than Ronaldo in terms of goals scored and trophies won. Bayern, Liverpool or Man City would be more than happy to take him I’d imagine.

I think goals is gone for Messi now.

He is about thirty behind maybe forty and he now plays a bit deeper whereas Ronaldo plays just as an out and out centre forward now, they have gone opposite ways. Plus Ronaldo is more the natural athlete he is lithe and lean and naturally fit whereas Messi is short and squat and had to take growth hormones, so Ronaldo was always going to on a little longer.

Also Messi plays at a slightly more difficult level, so no way he overtakes Ronaldo in goals now imo. He is two years younger but Ronaldo looks like he has easy five years in him, Messi maybe three.

Except he doesn’t.
