Surely nobody thinks Forrst winning the league back when loads of smaller teams did is a bigger achievement than breaking through all of the big 4/5 who've consistently won it for years?

Promoted 76/77

Champions 77/78

League Cup Winners 77/78 78/79

Charity Shield 78

European Cup 78/79 79/80

Super Cup 79

Anglo Scottish Cup 77

Obviously Forest's run is a truly remarkable achievement but i would argue that it was due to the collection of a great team coming together at the right time, even before they got promoted and a team that rose together to the very top.

With Leicester it's completely different.

By my count there are around four players in the squad who have had enough considerable league game time to make a difference that weren't a part of the squad last season who almost got relegated from the same league.

They're a team that regularly have less possession than other teams, who have at times been outplayed by teams much lower in the league than them but still came away with victories. They play an almost extinct formation at the top level, with central defenders who are happy to boot the ball anywhere, they have a goalkeeper who has the second highest balls into the opposition half in the whole entire league, and they are running away with the league using these tactics.

Nottingham Forest were ahead of their time which worked out brilliantly in their favour but at least makes it understandable why what happened to them happened to them, but Leicester City are so far behind their time that it's working in their favour against the opposition, which is what makes this utterly fascinating and incredible, because every single thing points to the fact that this should not be happening.

What's the general situation with footballers contracts when they get suspended for using banned substances? Would it constitute breach of contract or do the clubs just continue paying them and take the hit?

Dele Alli given 3 match ban, his season is over.

Good. Serves him right, and all the Spurs fans who seem to think that because he didn't punch him hard that it doesn't matter. Fucking idiots.

Parallels though.

Generally that would be gross misconduct and grounds for dismissal, though if the player was good most clubs wouldn't exercise it, see Rio Ferdinand at Man Utd.

We definitely sacked George O'Boyle and Kevin Thomas due to drug abuse. Although it was cocaine they took.
