Yes, that plan to put forward a referendum as part of a manifesto in a democratic election, and then, and only if they win, to put a referendum to the people for them to decide is very undemocratic.

You're speaking about the future. My post is blatantly explaining to the confused other poster why the silent majority are currently less silent online or on tv etc...

Well, the minority of died in the wool Unionists are spilling green ink everywhere because they are running shit scared of a referendum they know their side would lose.

Are this Stormzy loser and The_Jake taking shifts in spilling clichéd fail all over this thread? The only folk who give a shiny shite about "once in a generation" are ultra-yoons/Sevco fans, neither of whom matter to the Indy campaign in the slightest. Hard-line no-voting British nationalists couldn't be less relevant in fact.

The 'once in a generation' comment made by Alex Salmond is a millstone around the independence movement and it's hard to see how they progress beyond that. If only he had lost his position as a Member of Parliament, resigned from the leadership of the SNP and been effectively ostracised by the party and wider movement, then we could maybe move past what he personally felt about the legitimacy of a second referendum in the years after the first.

And I dare say they would go away if the vocal minority weren't so undemocratic with their goals.

So you agree that the opponents to independence are not silent then.  All you need to do now is acknowledge that they aren't a majority and you'll have started to get a grasp of reality.

You're acting like this hasn't been an actual discussion in mainstream politics? Some boi.

Wait a second. You're accepting that this is a contentious issue to some people. Where is that last guy, please respond to this guy and tell him he is wrong and it's only Rangers fans that think this....

Why do you think a second independence referendum would still return a no vote?

I prefer my favourite hip hop and grime artists to be pro rather than anti establishment is quite a take imo.

Yeah but I would prefer they have profound takes like Dave not like Stormzy and his "f**k boris" patter. Absolute weapon of an edge lord.

I don't believe the silent majority has changed their views, a few polls and the whole Brexit issue is not as pertinent as I think Yes voters think it is when it comes to splitting up the Union.  I could be wrong but that's my take.
