Raith Rovers v Hibernian

Recommended Posts

Mckinnon really cost us that game in the first half, totally wrong setup, wrong personnel. We were so narrow first half, Hibs had no problem getting down our flanks, and we offered nothing going forward. Great strike from Mginn for the first, although I thought Matthews was wrong side of him. Second not sure about what Cummings controlled the ball with but Cuthbert had to be a lot faster out there.

End of the half I thought we'd been taken to the cleaners. 2nd we changed shape and got some actual width. Robertson looked class in the middle and we actually probably had the better of the game in the 2nd. Obviously Hibs probably mentally backed off a bit coming into the end but it was heartening to see Raith play with more shape and structure. Really decent goal from Daly. Definitely 2 strong penalty shouts in there.

C'est la vie. Lost it in the first but gave a decent shot at a recovery in the 2nd.

This. Just this.

The Railway side assistant ref did a "joubert" and ran straight off the park at full time......the poor guy had lost the plot , terrified to make simple calls without doing what the ref told him to. We all have bad days I suppose.......

Agreed. Megginson must be in line for a start now. He's looked very strong on the left for a couple of weeks now, while Craigen is out of position and hasn't been near his best. Robertson, Daly and Thomson improved massively in the second half when we looked far more of a unit.

Also, just to add, those were two cracking goals from Hibs.

On another note there looked to be more than 2018 Hibs fans there. Away stand not full but don't think there was over a 1000 empty seats. What was going on down the corner with the plod and stewards? Found myself more interested in watching that than the game.

Can't help but feel hard done by due to the officials. Hibs were well worth the 2 goal lead at ht. We came out a different team in the second half and the subs improved us further giving more width and a great workrate from Megginson. Daly and andersons penalty shouts were stone wallers imo but though it was a terrific tackle from the hibs player when Wighton got injured. The lack of width to our team killed us first half. Cracking save from cat near the end to keep us in with a shout aswell although he looked very suspect at times in the first half.

Calmed down a bit now. Thought Hibs were excellent first half, was actually happy to get to half time 0-2, because that's retrievable and I knew Ray would change it. Second half we improved greatly, and I fancied a point when Daly pulled the goal back. The officials, och there's nae point in moaning. A lot of positives in the second half, onwards and upwards. Hibs? Good side, hope they keep it going and make The Rangers sweat via the play offs.

Like Hibs No.2, Gray. Good player. Thought our No.2 Thomson also had a good game.

Hibs probably deserves the win. Our approach to the first half was terrible. Think Ray got his tic tacs wrong.

Could have scraped a point but it wasn't to be. Didn't see any clear penalties from the Main Stand.

We were a bit long ball, which was effective in the second half but it wasn't pretty.

Anyway. Next!

David Gray is a level above Raith rovers.

Thought we were very good first half but like Falkirk on Tuesday we seemed to unnecessarily sit back too much in the second. The two hibs goals were crackers and the gap has been cut to 5. We've got a bit of momentum going now heading into arguably our two biggest games since we were relegated. Feeling quietly confident of getting 2 wins in our next 2 games but it'll be a difficult ask.

You need to open your eyes to is the bad facets of his game, it doesn't matter how good a player you are you will always be remembered for the bad things.

Have to be objective and say Ray got it badly wrong in the first half. Hibs were well worth the two goal lead they had, very poor from Toshney for the second goal.

A very different team in the second half though, the injury to Wighton just gave Hibs five minutes to compose themselves as they were all over the place at that point. Thought we were well worth a point, second best by a distance in the first half just as Hibs were in the second.

Not sure we had any 'stonewall' penalty shouts but out of the three we can consider ourselves exceptionally unlucky not to get at least one. Officials were absolutely woeful, seriously bad, the railway stand linesman lost the plot towards the end of the game. The free kick we got in the corner late on was laughable.

Excellent second half performance, worthy of a point but sadly not to be. Our season won't be defined by games against Hibs though, and after a very poor first half its encouraging that McKinnon turned things round so drastically.

If only we'd played the right team from the start, I suppose....

Fortress calm down pal, you have beaten a team with a shoestring budget who made Hibs look very ordinary at times in the second half. You should be pumping us anyway .Didnt realise beating the Rovers gave you a mega hardon

looking at the team we have now, are we on a shoestring budget? There's a lot of quality players throughout for this level who won't be on peanuts.
