You should be happy with staying clear of relegation given the midden have been horse this year.

No shit. This is the worst Saints team I've seen in 25 years of watching us.

Still though, Morton can't beat us.

We must've been 'in control' for all of three minutes in that game. Hardie was phenomenal, as impeccable a display of finishing as you'll see at this level, all the more impressive when you consider his age.

It's scary to think how that game would've gone if we'd had Wighton instead of Hardie. (Also I suppose, how it would've gone with Ian Murray in the away dugout instead of Alex Rae.)

We saw today the issue with playing Toshney in the midfield. When the pressure starts to increase, he falls back into the defensive line and we lose a potential outball. Pretty comprehensive evidence that Harry should either play up front or not at all, too. Absolutely no faulting his effort, but he was out of the game on the left wing.

Another three points on Tuesday night, by whatever means, and you'd have to think we'd be heavy favourites for the fourth spot.

Just seen the final result, why do we always do it like that?! Hardie pretty much bullied his way in to the starting line up now, probably at the expense of Panatoyiou. Fair play to the boy, he's got some ability.

Agreed. Toshney as sitting midfielder isn't cool Ray!

Can't play Harry anywhere other than up front either.

Strong squad now just in time for the tickly bit :-)

What a player Hardie is. His third goal, the tackles and blocks were flying in on him and he twisted and turned until he got a clear shot at goal. Was brilliant composure and skill for an 18 year old, even at this level.

To score 3 away from home and not even pick up a point is disappointing.

Promotion playoffs is beyond us but the relegation play offs certainly isn't with Livi closing the gap to 4.

Doesn't get any easier with QotS up next.

Well done Raith, hope to make it to Starks Park next season.

At times it felt like we were playing without a midfield. We need to get that sorted for the QoS game on Tuesday.

Hardie was superb. Great finish for his second goal and great composure for his third. Just a shame he's not our player, but we might as well enjoy him while he's here.

What was up with Davidson? Fell on his arse four times! The pitch looks like a beach with the amount of sand on it but everyone else seemed to keep their feet.

St Mirren looked much better than they did in their last visit. Thought they looked excellent going forward and they made loads of good opportunities.

The difference was Hardie. No Hardie and we'd have lost.

We didn't start till 3:30pm it seems. Our defence was a shambles most of the game, not more so than the first 30mins. We couldn't deal with long balls, and Raith scored some of the easiest goals you'll see all year- nobody was within 10 yards of Hardie at the first goal!

Fair play to the team for at least showing a bit of spirit and sticking in. An Ian Murray team would have been beaten at 3 mins in, but this lot dragged themselves back into the game towards the end and were close to getting a point out of it.

Still don't understand our tactics, launching it to Clarkson and Shankland who win nothing in the air- when we play to feet and get the ball down, we look a more competent side. Keith Watson has probably been our best signing this year!

BBC Scotland reporter started off by saying "well deserved victory for Raith", the stats then showed Saints had 53-47 possession, 16-8 shots on goal, 8-5 shots on target, and more corners to Saints as well.

I know stats can be deceiving in isolation, but those stats and a single goal victory make it look a lot closer than "well deserved".

That was a very strange game. At no point in that game did we look in control, even when 2-0 and 4-1 up. Although it's frustrating that we let them back in the match I'm just delighted with the win because on the whole the game was a real struggle for us.

Not for the first time our midfield pretty much vanished as the game went on. As has been touched on elsewhere Toshney retreated so deep he was essentially playing as an additional defender and rather than trying to get play moving he seemed happy to just to clear the ball every team it came near him. Whatever we do on Tuesday we need Toshney out of the midfield.

The real story today though is Ryan Hardie. For an 18 year old the guy put on an absolute masterclass of forward play today. Three great finishes and an assist for Stewart. I really hope the deal to the end of the season is confirmed soon.

That lady who was reporting seemed like a bit of a muppet.

Well done to the lad for getting a hat rick but he won't come up against a worse defence for the rest of the season it was an embarrassment.
