Bishop Briggs
On 09/09/2021 at 12:38, JagsCG said: Pleased with this signing, hopefully will be decent at this level and it now gives us another option at LB with Holt almost certainly going to remain in central defence. I’d imagine Foster will now head to RB (although there’s a valid argument he’s been better on the left). It's unlikely that were many other, if any, available LBs with the necessary experience. When McKenna and Bell return from injury, there will be competition and cover for each defensive position. Another striker would help. -

Realistically, anyone we could get now won’t be better than Graham or Rudden, so would be third/fourth choice. Anyone happy to do that will be shite. Our squad is already relatively large, so f**k knows what wages we’ll still have to offer too. We’d likely just change system a bit and play Smith/Turner centrally with Hastie and Tiffoney wide if one of our Rudden or Graham get injured.

I think most of us were expecting a young inexperienced loanee to come in.
jaggyness
Does anyone know if the club is still planning on running an open day event this Sunday? Hasn't been anything on the website since they first announced it?

The Thistle Archive
112 years ago today Thistle played their first-ever match at Firhill, the stadium of dreams, the palace of the gallus. It's the place we've called home since 1909, but there's a lot more to the old ground than just Partick Thistle. Which Olympic champion ran at Firhill? Which Jag was born closest to the ground? Heard about the time we burned the pitch? Firhill's stories are as weird and wonderful as the club itself; join us for a 30-minute celebration of The Life And Times Of Firhill Park → Supporting the piece, we have 14 new list pages → breaking down all the (mainly non PTFC) Firhill activity from 1909 to date. Our ambitious Firhill diary → goes for the full megalist approach. Happy birthday Firhill!

DiegoDiego
How did Henoc Mukendi ever get a professional contract with Liverpool? I see his brother managed fifteen clubs in four years, too.
Fuctifano
Presume he was just one of these guys who was amazing at 14/15 years old, possibly because he might already have been 6'4 at 14/15 years old, then just tailed off as he got older. Reid
Our defence is far too soft. Need to get it sorted and stop playing centre backs at right back too. Foster could do with getting binned too - he loses the head and swipes at players. He’s a liability. Nightmare
2 minutes ago, Reid said: Our defence is far too soft. Need to get it sorted and stop playing centre backs at right back too. Playing just about all of our defenders out of position was always a suspect strategy to begin with, and because we got a few wins early in the season by doing it, it seems to have stuck. McKenna just isn't good enough, really. Holt is passable as a CB (his contribution up the other end helps as well) and you can probably say the same thing for Foster at LB, but they're both the bare minimum of what's acceptable as a starter at this level. Time to change things up.

Fitbafollower
Holts best position is left back the goals you are losing should tell McCall that
JudgeMudge
Today is the day where we move from a pretty good start to the season to a pretty disappointing start.

Was quite surprised he wasn't sent off for the lunge/tackle towards the end of the game.
