invergowrie arab
SLAB really are fucking moronic. Let's give them credit and say the no confidence vote in John Swinney today is a genuine political conviction and they believe another SNP MSP would do a better job. The political reality is the motion will fail and for absolutely no fucking reason or political gain in the eyes of the electorate they will have stood shoulder with the Tories and Lib Dems in yet another Nats v Yoons Holyrood standoff. TBF there was actually mileage in this had the Govt not u-turned on exam results but it's now yesterday's news. It might also have mileage if anyone had any clue what Labour's education policy was. They are consistently on the wrong side of their own constituency. Edited August 13, 2020 by invergowrie arab

Swinney was forced to make a u-turn because of the looming no-confidence vote that he was on track to lose, opposition parties can take credit for the change of policy, and now as a final boot in the stones they can say they tried to remove the man responsible for putting everyone through all the heartache and stress but the SNP closed ranks on one of their own. The vote loses its meaning a fair bit because of the u-turn but it’s not a bad look to be trying to get the man that caused the mess out. If Gavin Williamson caves this week, would you encourage Ian Blackford to offer his support? ‘Got there in the end, fair play Gav’?

Forcing U-Turn, claim victory like the Greens have done. I don't think their stance on this one issue is objectively unreasonable it's that they keep doing the same thing over and over to no real effect. Nothing to do with Scotland, so a little bit of statesmanship should be shown here.

Highland Capital
The biggest thing to take away from this poll is not the 55% Yes, but the fact that Yes is now over 50% when Don't Knows are included.

Highland Capital
I see another poll has come out today by Savanta ComRes (who I hadn't heard of before) with Yes at 54%.
