She's also rather statuesque in nature (competitive swimmer). There was only one occasion I got properly stung by height difference- I'd been at a gig at the Garage, and after it went to the little club upstairs where I saw a female acquaintance sitting with an incredible-looking pal I didn't recognise. I got talking to them, and while the other one was talking to somebody else at the table I asked the one I knew who her pal was. "Oh, that's my sister - you won't have met her before - she's been living up in Aberdeen at uni the last few years" Short pause. "She's single..." Ka-ching! Carried on talking to them, and eventually asked the sister if she wanted to dance. Big smile...YAAASSS! She got up. She kept on getting up. She must have been about 6'1 barefoot and...oh f**k...she was wearing heels which took her up to nearly a full head taller than me... I did the walk of shame to the dance floor all too aware of the sweet irony of being with probably the best-looking burd in the place but also knowing half the club was thinking "Who's that wee guy?" When I was younger (and more self conscious) it used to really get me down when I heard a girl say she was only interested in taller guys but at some point I gave up feeling sorry for myself. Been out with one who was taller(A few were taller in heels, but that's another story). Shortest girl I went out with was 5'1", which is fairly noticeable in terms of height difference. My missus is around 5'7", which is probably about ideal. One of my sisters is around 5 foot and her boyfriend is 6'6".
