Smurph
Boy I go to uni with is from Peterborough and is in the shorts all year camp. Fair play to him for keeping it up, up here, but his first winter was a bit of a culture shock. I love wearing shorts but f**k that during the winter. My waterproof trousers are one of the best things I’ve ever bought.

Has to either be extremely wet or cold before I put a jacket on. Socks and shoes are obviously necessary. Slippers are an abomination. There's a wee shithole near Falkirk called Whitecross where women head to the shop in the mornings wearing jackets, shoes and pyjamas.

I'm in the Philippines and could wear shorts all year around no problem but I actually like to stick on a pair of jeans and a smart t-shirt/shirt on a Sunday when we go shopping. Definitely also when we go to a special event like wedding/funeral etc although many locals wear shorts then as well. For me, it's nice to dress up a little now and again.

You live in a climate where adults wearing shorts all year is counterintuitive and contrary. We never did get to the bottom of your trauma over shorts and 'naked' legs.
