Favourite Building in your home town/city

Depends who you speak to I suppose. Some people up north are strange but overall far more friendly than folk from Edinburgh and most of the east coast bar Dundee.

Oh I don’t disagree, just strange. I went to the Stockbridge Market on Sunday and the amount of wankers and the general rudeness and lack of manners on display was incredible.

I remember talking to an American during the festival who complimented the city as a whole but did mention that there’s no middle ground in Edinburgh and people are either first class or complete dicks. I think there some truth in that.

Here's a helpful map of Scotland to show you what coast Tain is on.

Thanks,

The east of the North West of Scotland,

somewhere in the middle between east and west,

west of Moray & Grampian , the North East of Scotland.

Got to  go north through the capital of the Highlands (Inverness) to get there.

NOTED.

See that coast where Ullapool is, that's the west. See that coast where Tain is, that's the east. You can't decide to change somewhere's location just because you prefer a long winded and innaccurate way of describing it!

Thought that was one of the basic rules of P&B,

How about we call it

The Kiddie On East Coast above Inverness that isn't really on the East of Scotland but the locals getting uppity if you think that their part of Ross-shire is in the North West of Scotland,

Not on the west coast, just in the North West of Scotland :thumsup2

It's the worst accent going. I detest it. Thankfully (!) my accent is Weedgie.

Well thats the way I always considered it, I never considered Inverness to be east Scotland, would just consider it to be Highland but would consider Elgin and beyond to be on the east. Funnily enough Perth is far more east than west but people considered that to be central Scotland yet Dunfermline would be considered east as its part of Fife.

Inverness sits on the Moray Firth, it's in the East!

East?

Dunfermline is the centre of the known universe.

No one outwith the central belt seems to feel the need to define themselves as east or west.

I dont suppose the East/West divide means all that much really, other than the absolute disgrace that you cant get broon sauce in a chippy when you head West. That disgusts me to my core.

You can, you just need to ask for it. But no-one does, because it's stinking.

But it’s still closer to Kyle than it is to Peterhead. If you assume the world is flat and draw a line straight down, Inverness is about in line with Hamilton.

But it isn't flat! You're at it, you cheeky monkey.

I'm honestly not at it! Even if we're to ignore the flat earth theory for now, its still closer to the most western point than the most eastern. East Scotland starts when you exit the Highlands and enter Moray.

This is entering virginton territory of what is and isn't coastal.
