Had we not been shite for months I’d have agreed

Aye now is not the time for revisionism. We’ve been shite but we’re second. I won’t hold it against them too much.

Daziel finished second, McCall never manage it.

Both in very different circumstances and method.

We have shat half a dozen games that could have had us champions but won the game that made sure we were in the play-offs so the team deserve a huge amount of credit for that. Especially when it was a win against Inverness, in Inverness.

Would you guys prefer Killie in the play-off final if you beat the Thistle/QP winner?

Nah I'd like top flight derbies.

So did the entire top half of the table.

Doesn't matter. Tonight makes a lot of things irrelevant. It makes Falkirk irrelevant. It's a quarter million quid for free, with a very decent shot at lifting a hoodoo of over forty years. This is colossal and wholly unexpected and everyone at the club deserves it.

Now is the time to think of the possible fixtures. Could have Killie away one week. Celtic at home the next. Rangers away. Then Aberdeen away. Any of the Edinburgh teams away.

Let yourselves dream boys.

Every team has shat the bed at some point. We weren’t good enough to win the league imo but finishing second is still a great achievement considering how close this league has been. We’ve given ourselves the best possible chance of winning the playoffs and the bonus of finishing second makes the Falkirk game a lot less painful.

Bullen isn’t exactly a master tactician but no one can deny there is some amount of character that he’s instilled into that squad and they will all feel like we can at the very least go and make the play off final now.

Folk have been saying this stuff for the last 4 months, at least this or remember that, just because other teams have been shite it doesn't excuse us because we have managed to salvage something when other teams fucked up.

We have done something good tonight and it extends our season and hope for another 3 weeks but we need to keep standards high and keep improving. We could shite out of the semis like we shat out the Scottish cup just as easy.

Tonight counts for nothing if we don't turn up in the next two games.

Usually tonight the pessimist in me would be staring at the fact we missed the title by 5 points. But tonight I don’t care. Excellent plan by Bullen to have us believing we were finishing 5th only to steal 2nd at the last kick.

Agreed. This 2nd place finish makes basically every bad thing that's happened this season irrelevant, except maybe Falkirk. Now all of us that have been criticial the past few months just have to clamp it now.
