Obviously differences between them all but we have offloaded our poorer players in Hewitt, Ashford, Bangala, Houston and JML pretty well. That’s quite a lot of players taking up space in the squad.

Yeah that’s pretty much all the deadwood gone and then you’ve got Reading slowly getting a wee bit better although you’d hope we’re still looking at improving that position if Ecrepont goes.

Hopefully a signing tomorrow or Friday before the game on Saturday.

Just wasn't really good enough. Could argue he was played out of position often, but he didn't score anywhere near enough when he was presented with opportunities.

Good luck to him. Hope he finds some form.

Would be great to see us bring in another body before Saturday.

Well that’s one way to annoy the small number of supports who still liked you.

He may have been played out of position but Bullen actually deserves a bit of credit for finding a way to accommodate and get the best out of a limited player. He was never going to be a striker for us. Too lightweight and poor finisher but his speed and directness coupled with his willingness to track back meant he was often useful in a wider role. He wasn’t a conventional winger but most of his best games came from playing on the left.

Bryden out on loan jacubiak in. Decent squad player for Championship. Ideally we should push the boat out and bring in a proven goalscorer. Need a brick shithouse of a defensive midfielder (Liam Bridcutt), and a box to box attacking midfielder. That would see us well.

Don’t really see the problem with what he has said tbh, he obviously isn’t good enough but he could argue he deserved more of a chance in the ten positon given McKenzie did but he isn’t nearly as good on the air so was probably affected by the style of play. Don’t really care generally though.

We are very short of midfield players for the weekend now though!

Hopefully it means we try and upgrade somewhere else with the wages freed up.

Can't say Ashford will be missed but it does mean we will be another player down for the weekend

I’m assuming we’ll get one in before the weekend with Ashford going - as we currently only really have four first team midfielders. One of whom we know won’t last the match. We then have Tomlinson and McKenzie at a push if there are any further issues during the game.

If we need to bring Tomlinson on, at least if it’s part of a three in attack there is a bit less responsibility defensively there - but it’s still asking a lot of a boy that has just turned 18 against some of the players Dundee Utd have.
