So they’re not better together? These Islands openly advocate separation from toxic mouth-breathers when their political goals and visions for the future diverge? Bloody separatists.
tamthebam
To name your campaign "These Islands" suggests to me that they're in favour of reuniting the Republic of Ireland with the UK which is an interesting stance.

UK Nationalist policy appears to be to pretend Ireland doesn’t exist - to never mention or acknowledge it. Note, for example, Oliver whining about the potential breakup of the UK (eek! It can’t happen! Separatism! Better together! This union - and only this union - is a glorious and divine blessing!). He and his wilfully blind fellow flag-shaggers simply don’t recognise that this horrifying breakup happened in the last century and that a large part of “these islands” already operates as an independent country outside the UK.

Probably also oblivious to the way that still having an Anglican monarchy due to how a series of 17th century civil wars ended rather than a modern republic with roots in the 18th century enlightenment made it impossible for an inclusive unitary modern British national identity to emerge because Anglicans were rather thin on the ground outside England & Wales. Would have been better if the UK had secularised and rebranded in the early 1800s before competing modern national ideas took root but the establishment were able to keep a lid on protests by the proles and keep archaic institutions like the monarchy and House of Lords in place into the times we currently live in.

He just loves seeing the libtards get pwned. On a serious note, though, it’s important that this kind of thing and these kinds of people are visibly and consistently associated with the UK nationalism they embrace; it’s where Johnson and Co are driving the UK and can only serve to drive reasonable folk away from it.

Also ignore the fact that no country who has gained independence from the United Kingdom has ever wanted to go back. Ask the Irish if they'd rather stay independent or rejoin the UK, Malta? Australia, Canada, New Zealand? Guys like Oliver who maybe had different ideas to you, but ultimately were not unlikeable have gone down that rabbit hole of ultra nationalism. The irony is that the biggest nationalists/separatists are the right wing union flag wavers.

We had that from one of the forum’s resident crackpots last night: Ireland should apparently be reunited, but only under UK rule (and apparently the will of the Irish and Irish history doesn’t matter - UK Nats don’t actually care about that any more than they ever did or ever will). Each day, UK Natbaggery seems to get more extreme.
