craigkillie
I'm not sure there actually are problems here with people not wearing them either, just trolls and bots online having their shite opinions amplified.

pandarilla
I initially got mixed up with the age for kids wearing masks and the age for kids not needing to distance as much.I'm pretty sure over 5s need to wear masks in shops whereas 12 is the age for less distancing in public.I think that message could be tightened up a bit, as i was surprised that we had to get masks sorted for our 2 kids (5&7). In saying that they've not been going to shops anywhere near as much as before.
doulikefish
Spain seems to be creeping towards the dodgy side of new cases again.Just been chatting to my cousin and her hubby is edging towards shutting his restaurant again .They live just outside Valencia

I just looked up the guidance and over 5’s need masks as I thought I’d maybe missed something.

Not surprisingly, both were fat guys with shaved heads and the usual menacing "f**k you" look on their puffy faces. Ironically, the two wee kids of one of them did have masks on. I was at Silverburn the other day. Just about everyone wearing masks, but quite a few with their noses poking out the top. One guy though - fitting that fat/shaven head/fk you look - dumps a load of rubbish from his trolley on to the pavement, heads in to Tesco coughing away, no mask, young daughter with him. I did a fair amount of silent judging.

Jacksgranda
Neighbour's son was buried this afternoon (non Covid related death). Friends and neighbours gathered at the bottom of the avenue to pay their respects, as there was no wake and I don't know if any went to funeral parlour as you'd only be allowed 30 in. Hearse drove up the avenue to his parents' house, turned and came back down with his father and a neice following it, before heading off to the church for the commital. Normally there would have been 30/40/50 people following the hearse. Strangest funeral I've been at. We are meeting in our cars at her old house, then following the hearse along to the cemetery, around 20 people around the grave for a short ceremony, and that's it. Michael W
Can't really be surprised at that tbh. I was surprised the Scottish Government removed Spain from the quarantine list given the daily caseloads were actually higher than they were when the Scottish Government decided not to follow the UK Government on Spain. Pain in the arse if you'd booked to go last minute but that's the way of it at the moment I guess. 767 cases today across the UK on 122k tests. The amount of new cases has been remarkably static the last three days. Good to see that testing is keeping up at a good rate. Also notable is the Pillar 2 tests being sent out have seen a massive jump as well: 80k yesterday and 102k today.

Marshmallo
Hate myself for thinking like this but part of me smirked at that Spain U turn given some of the smug, show off, borderline GIRUY Insta stories I've seen from Marbella or Ibiza this weekend.
Sherrif John Bunnell
Boris has only put this restriction in place as he is still bitter about the Catalonia independence referendum IMO.

You quite plainly wrote "lockdown was never to prevent deaths" which is palpable nonsense. It can be quite clearly inferred from "stopping the NHS being overwhelmed" = stopping deaths. 6 hours ago, AUFC90 said: 7 hours ago, Thereisalight.. said: I’m not disputing the fact that if the NHS had been overwhelmed that it would lead to deaths. I’m just saying that there is no reason to lockdown again as the NHS would not be overwhelmed. Sadly people die every day. We can’t shut down life for the living to accommodate the few It would have become overwhelmed. The whole point in the first place. We were registering a 1000 deaths a day with a lockdown. And we're nae Sweden. 6 hours ago, VladimirMooc said: And we didn’t want the NHS to be overwhelmed because...it would lead to more deaths. Good to know you don’t think there was any chance of the NHS being overwhelmed. Hope you’ve offered your services to NHS Scotland as a public health specialist? Again I’ll state my point. The lockdown was to “prevent the NHS being overwhelmed”, there is no need for another lockdown as the NHS won’t be overwhelmed by the second wave that we’ve been waiting on since May
