Re the bit in bold, I’m not sure that follows. I mean, in a sane world it would, but in this world, he’d just get replaced by an equally witless waste of skin (but potentially a more dangerous one, because it would be one who is presented with a fresh veneer of authority).

Fair point and completely true. But, whoever takes over will undoubtedly be tainted by association with Bojo. The shine is well and truly off all of them and so wings are clipped. Arguably, a fractured conservative party is good for democracy when they have such a large majority. Factions will be more willing to oppose the government.

Of course when BoJo is booted out, he will not stay in parliament, he's too self centred for that, so another by election which may reduce the majority even more.

Is Ross technically the boss of Alister Jack, a Scottish Conservative MP, or does being a Cabinet minister (albeit in a non-job) mean that Jack's boss is Boris and he kind of outranks Ross?

The latter. This came up a few years ago when Davidson was the Tory MSP’s leader and it was revealed that Tory MPs representing Scottish seats all answered to the leader of the party, not the leader of a gaggle of misfits in a Parliament they didn’t give a merry f**k about.

Dr Sandesh Gulhane there burping up the cure-all for the exorbitant costs associated with the retail end of energy is "nuclear".

Electricity generated and wholesaled via nuclear generation is hugely expensive and further, I'm not at all sure whether he misunderstands or misrepresents the wholesale and retail parts of the energy market.

One wonders what leads him to such a simplistic and bogus offering.

A smell of snake oil is heavy in the air.

Preceded by:

“Why are you not putting a mobile bank into Forres?” only to be told the conversation had been about mobile banking “as in the mobile app”, not a moveable bank.

Is this true or satire? It’s genuinely impossible to tell.

True.

A full version of the car crash video clip is midway down the page in the following link:

I think the best part of this is his condescending tone, absolutely convinced that he knows more about everything whilst making a complete arse of himself.

A normal person would 100% realise they don’t know what they’re talking about, or at the very least hesitate and row back in the understanding they might be wrong. Douglas Ross is not a normal person. Dunning-Kruger again.
