Rubislaw Quarry in Aberdeen is quite hidden for the size of it. Once the largest man made hole in Europe. Also you can't get a zero reading on a geiger counter in the buildings next to it.

Best appreciated with this view prior to flooding:

I’ve always found the arch in Fettercairn to be a bit random, and also a bit OTT for a celebration of the Queen passing through the village.

Was it not mandatory to build an arch for a "royal visit" for a while?

Sure theres similar in Dundee somewhere.

There was, but it’s now long gone.

Reminds me of some seating from Govan that ended up in Perth.

TBF thats a myth, we simply copied their colour system to make it easier for fans when the stadium was sold out.

AKA "Enter East Stand at turnstile 1, blue seats, row k, seat 72"

Obviously irrelevant now, but not when the stadium opened.

Actually there's a few examples of recycling at Scottish grounds- Saint Mirren's lights at Cappielow, some of the newer Love Street plastic seats ended up at Meadowbank and Threave Rovers, a stand from Douglas Park can be found at Auchinleck Talbot and Ainslie Park has some old Tynecastle turnstiles.

Don't forget the old Love St urinals in the South Stand at Pittodrie.

On the subject of holes in the ground, I may as well add in the ‘Great Northern Time Machine’ in Assynt, a cave chamber large enough to fit the Usher Hall inside it.

However, those wanting to visit need to walk, crawl and climb through 2km of cave just to reach it.  FWIW they found a bear skeleton just lying on the surface in here.

Cromwell's Clock Tower in Inverness.  Apparently when it was built it was out in the countryside but is now swallowed up by an industrial estate.  There was talk a few years ago of taking it apart brick-by-brick and rebuilding it somewhere else but nothing seems to have come of it.

Seems mental, but they did this with 'Wallace's Tower' in Aberdeen that used to be in the city centre.  Part of the deal with M&S was that they could build their concrete horror show on the site on condition they paid for the tower to be moved.  It now sits out beside the lovely suburb of Tillydrone.
