Wages of highest-paid players at the smaller clubs?

As above, rumours are May is our highest earner, rumours veer from £2k a week to £3k a week basic. Somewhere in between sounds reasonable. It's pretty well known we offer low basic wages and high bonuses, so dont know how that fits in.

He was apparently on, at least, double that at Aberdeen, with Matty Kennedy getting a deal beyond anything anyone at Saints has ever earned (rumours were Drey Wright is on similar at Hibs, somehow), so I'd guess the highest earner outwith the OF comes from Aberdeen or an Edinburgh side, which is I'm sure a stunning theory.

I think the smaller teams pay less than folk expect, and the larger sides spend more.

27k in Zimbabwean pounds which is a fiver or there abouts in sterling!

Hearts paying the same as our now miles away top half championship teams put together, but don’t worry we got this!

Nigerian Naira surely, if it's Dundee Utd.?

For the non-OF/Aberdeen/Hibs clubs, how much is the highest paid player making and who would you guess it is?

We already know Shankland is making £27K a week at United, but what about the other seven?

I was forwarded the below link a while ago. Not sure just how accurate it is but it looks about right imo.

It also does other leagues too, the English Championship wages are scary!

Average First-Team Player Salary at Premiership Clubs

  1. Celtic - £895,564
  2. Rangers -£649,771
  3. Aberdeen - £140,461
  4. Hearts - £137,942
  5. Hibernian - £119,700
  6. Kilmarnock - £68,412
  7. St Johnstone - £62,691
  8. Motherwell - £59,304
  9. Ross County - £55,574
  10. St Mirren - £48,621
  11. Livingston - £43,105
  12. Hamilton Accies - £41,154

Seems about right. Big leap between provincial and big city clubs and then huge leap to the Old Firm.

Based on this Killie are the most underperforming team and Liv over performing this season so far at least.

Ross Callachan has my respect for turning down a deal at Dundee worth considerably more than he's on at Hamilton - simply because he wants to play in the top flight.

Of course, the fact he's fucking stinking also helps him gain my respect.

Was Caniggia not on something ridiculous like £30k a week plus all the Marlboro he could smoke?

I have no idea why we went into Administration that time?

Peter Marr tell a story he come in to talks having agreed £5k a week and left on £15k and he's no idea how it happened.

I take it that you didn’t see Hearts sitting at Number 4 in Scotland and not even in our top league.

United's Wage to turnover ratio is 133%.

Ours in 2003 when we went into Admin was 154%.

Just sayin.

Tick tock.

My guess is that these are lifted right out of Football Manager. All the round figures make me very suspicious.

Average salary is a bit of a daft measure, since it "punishes" teams with a smaller squad, like we did last season. Total wage bill would be more useful here.
