Partick look good, still not sure how Turner ended up with them tbh, should be in the top flight. St Mirren look solid. He plays absolutely nothing like his dad. Been really good. Hard to really tell on these games, but Thistle look like they could do well this season. Also, as they are a team that seem to always be either on a surge or in free fall they could be a good bet for the championship this season.

Gareth_Glasgow
I was in the middle of tearing Shaughnessy to shreds there for wandering off, should never have doubted the lad tbh.
Lex
Captain Joe makes it 2 and we will be seeded.
Biscuits
Big goal - should've won by about 5 tho
sergie's no1 fan
Love watching big Mainzo. #CM10Should have had 3. Easy to see why he's playing with us and not Aberdeen anymore. Hopefully a bit more clinical in the league games.
Lex
FT 2-0Fairly comfortable stuff, should have won by more. Main, McGrath and Henderson all had big chances second half, 3 or 4 would have been a fairer reflection. No matter, three points, another clean sheet, 12 points from 12 (the first time we’ve managed that in this group stage) and seeded for the last 16. Job done.Thought Henderson probably was our best player. He has bulked up a good bit over the summer and caused problems down that right hand side all game, and won the penalty. Think he will have a break out year this season and expect to see him in the Scotland u21’s next squad.Erwin also played well when he came on and got a nice assist for Joe to tap in for the second goal. Defence was solid but wasn’t really tested. Now we are seeded we will have a good chance of making the last eight again.
Gareth_Glasgow
I thought Main was excellent there apart from his finishing. Power was good too, Dunne looked a bit shaky. Fair play to Tanser and Henderson for getting so many crosses in but the quality just needs to be more consistent.
Nightmare
After an even first half, Saints were miles better in the second and can’t argue with that scoreline.

Pleasantly surprised by it.Don't think he'll get as much time on the ball to whip in crosses against Premiership teams though.
Coventry Saint
Strange game. Never really felt threatened, though Thistle did move it about nicely. We looked better when Erhahon came on, though that could have coincided with Thistle tiring slightly and the game being more stretched. Not sure what to say about our strikers; Main actually had an excellent game but he seems allergic to hitting the target. Brophy also did loads of good work outside the box, and his hold-up/link play was good, but that's not all he's on the park for. I actually think we needed more from midfield. Kiltie and McGrath both barely got past the front two. Main was livid when he won an astonishing knock-down but there was nobody near him. The commentators blamed Erwin but I'm inclined to suggest it should have been McGrath hitting that space. Our wide players were decent. We just need to start doing something with these balls into the box.

Hopefully a bit more clinical in the league games. He works extremely hard, although that should probably be a bare minimum, and his play outside the box I thought was a bit underrated with us. Alas, he can be fairly profligate (as evidenced today) and has a fair amount of technical limitations.
djchapsticks
We're still a definite work in progress but the number of chances we create has been encouraging.

I'm surprised at St Mirren fans being surprised at how good he is, attacking wise he's probably been one of the best left wing backs in the country over the past 2 seasons. Issue comes when folk get closer to him. Has a wee bit of skill but it only works once or twice a match, and you begin to see how limited he is on the ball when he can't cross. It's why Booth played the bigger games, as he linked better with Wotherspoon which made us better as a whole, rather than Booth actually being better than Tanser.
