Do you still have enough pasta and toilet roll left over from the Covid lockdowns for a pox lockdown?

@welshbairn - you got enough bum tickets left to keep us right?

Edit:

According to the UK Health Security Agency, all four of the most recent cases are men who identify as gay or bisexual or other men who have sex with men.

Fascinating spectrum of shaggers, there.

At you at risk from monkeypox if you attend monkey tennis matches?

Between relegation, monkeypox, and the constant threat of a George Galloway appearance, you have to feel for QoS.

You forgot to mention we're surrounded by Tory voting farmers.

The rest of the country really ought to start taking in refugees.

There's no cure apparently.

They treat the symptoms only.

And it has up to 10% fatality rate but usually sorts itself out in 2-4 weeks.

Lovely.

On the positive side, it's very hard to catch without close contact.

Sexually transmitted. Many posters here have nothing to fear...

There are vaccines and anti-virals: https://www.who.int/emergencies/disease-outbreak-news/item/2022-DON381

Ding, of course, is back to tweeting 🚨 like it's going out of fashion.

It's Christmas for this guy. Just as he was running out of steam, along comes something else he can mis-inform about and present utterly wrong statistics.

Authorities in the UK have warned that a new monkey pox virus  that has infected nine people could mutate further and cause deaths.  The virus, known also as monkeypox, is understood to be primarily infecting people who have not travelled from Western Africa.  Signs of infection include fever, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills and exhaustion.

Cases have been reported in Canada, Spain and the UK among other countries.

Is it time to stock up on those little surgical masks?

Are we all completely fucked?

Should I take the Tamiflu I stockpiled for bird flu?

Have any P&Bers ever been part of a worldwide pandemic?

"Coronavirus" at least sounded like a proper name for a virus that could potentially wipe out humanity.

"Monkey pox", nobody's going to take that seriously until it gets a better name.

This looks confusing.  It has primarily affected people who have NOT travelled from Western Africa.

This suggests that if I travel from Inverness to Dingwall directly then I am more at risk than if I did so via Timbuktu.

Have I understood that wrong?

It's a parody of the opening post from the Covid thread, however it is true that more of the cases in the UK have not recently travelled to west Africa than have.
