Skyline Drifter
6 hours ago, Bring Your Own Socks said: Epilogue on the Poloc CC “takeover”. Unfortunate announcement date, but it’s bona fide. W Academy started as on online coaching academy during CoVid, run by two lower league players who are brothers, Ryan and Kyle Wilkie. Based in East Kilbride, their Facebook page lists a number of youngsters who have moved up to Thistle, Kilmarnock, Ayr and Rangers. They look like a direct competitor for the QP Community programme. Clearly, acquiring a grass facility isn’t just for online activity. The Queen’s Park Foundation’s announcement today regarding the facilities management of the Holyrood Sports Centre suggest our interest in the Nether Pollok facility, adjacent to Shawholm, has waned. I’m sure all the Eejits who jumped in to tell us how we had put a cricket club out of business will be along presently with their abject apologies. Dissolution of the club 1st April 2023 President Kenneth Robertson has, today, written to club members to confirm that the conditional decision taken at the recent Special Meeting of members to dissolve the club, after its tenancy at “Shawholm” was terminated, has been confirmed. This decision follows unsuccessful discussions to secure cricket under the tenancy of the incoming leaseholder, The W Academy. The club’s tenancy will officially end on 30 April 2023. Ryan Wilkie hasn't been a player for a long time. He's a physio now. Was with us for about a fortnight a few years ago but moved on very quickly when he got an opportunity at St Mirren. I think he's now Academy physio at Partick Thistle. Kyle seems to still be playing at Gala though.

Derry Alli
I haven't seen a few of your more 'illustrious' posters in a few weeks. Is all okay?

Can't say I am illustious poster but I am certainly a hungover one this morning . For a team of young kids QP are still doing well but there have been a few hard lessons learned this past month. Been tough but we will dust ourselves down and go again.
Dave
Last five weeks have been a rude awakening for this squad. Some clearly had their heads turned in January, and others completely lost theirs. It obviously looks ridiculous to say it now, given where we have been recently, but objectively we'd have taken staying in the league this season and that has been achieved. But bottling the chance to go straight up again in the manner we have done it is borderline unforgivable.

The season is clearly not over (yet) however something needs to change (and quick) or we will throw away the play-offs too. What we're doing doesn't work anymore (without a Murray), maybe it’s time to start some younger members of the squad and/or go two up front.
Bring Your Own Socks
I knew there was something badly wrong at half-time when Dempster didn’t make an appearance on Sportscene.

bridgeofweirdo
The heat is off and we no longer have the 'top of the league' pressure to bare, so can we get back to winning ways ? Considering all the background nonsense (Scottish Cup debacle , will we won't be playing at Lesser Hampden etc. and our nomadic existence over the last 2/3 years) I think most would be delighted with our current position in the league. We've had a taste of being top dog and it is good - there is still a chance we can re-live the joy of promotion - just steady the ship and get the finger out !! We are used to doing it the hard way are we not ?. Edited April 9, 2023 by bridgeofweirdo spell

However who would have thought we would have been top for 3 months. As you say let's get our arses into gear and at least make the playoffs.
williebraveheart
We win our remaining games, we will win the league imho. Not impossible if we can get a confidence booster against Hamilton. Morton are dejected, Ayr happy to be in the play offs will not want to risk anything and Dundee will shit a brick if they have to beat us in the last game.

We know the ability to do it is there and it would be great to see how we could cope with all that is involved with life in the Premier league.

Jobby1
This is where we find out how good a manger Owen Coyle is now. When results are good and football free flowing its easy being a manager. Sadly on Friday night Queens looked done. Can he turn it around in a week? You need to turn it around as soon as possible or season will Peter out. Bad time to hit a slump....
