It is a shambles and another one added to the list, at least with NS their was the facade of leadership. The scotgov seems rudderless now.

You would have thought it would be easy to look good against the worst UK governments in history and a tory party thats a bigger shambles but somehow against all odds they havent. What a missed opportunity for independence this last few years since Brexit will be looked as.

Yousaf will probably be quite happy that this has been binned.

In the long run it's one less idiotic policy to deal with.

He still has an idiotic Minister. . Maybe he can appoint her to fill the transport vacancy: she has experience of the ferry and car problems and can oversee the  dualling pledge.

Circularity Scotland: Bottle return scheme firm 'on brink of collapse' - BBC News

Quote

The firm which was due to manage a controversial Scottish recycling scheme appears to be on the brink of collapse.

Staff have been sent home from Circularity Scotland and the board is unable to confirm if they will be paid for the month or if they will be able to return to the office.

If they believed in it and had a working scheme Then they should have gone ahead with it, even just with plastic bottles. That they didnt probably means they knew they had fecked up and didnt even have a working scheme. They could have easily started with plastic bottles got it up and running and then the opportunity would have been there to add glass at a later stage.

Businesses will quite often start with a MVP minimun viable product and then from there build on it towards what their final aim is, why that couldnt have happened here I dont think has ever been explained by Scottish Gov

You'd be be imposing a sizeable disadvantage on canned drink producers compared to bottled drink producers.

DRS (excluding glass) does operate in countries,  Norway being a good example. How did the Norwegians get around this competitive disadvantage point? It can't be insurmountable.

Also, I'm fairly certain that Circularity Scotland said the scheme could operate without glass.

It's a moot point anyway given that it's now been deferred.

We’ve had it in South Australia since 1977 and covers cans, glass and plastic bottles and cartons with some exceptions.

Slater survives vote of no confidence.

Which does for all further complaints from acolytes that nobody is giving Humza credit for doing a decent job. Any MSP who voted to retain that completely incompetent and arrogant clown deserves emptied themselves.

Sounds like Useless is thinking of booting Fergus Ewing for voting against her

Shouldn't it be the dozy bint who made a complete arse cake of the policy who suffers the consequences for it, or is that just me?

Obviously shows that Harvie is Useless's puppeteer. Thinking about ditching one of your own, who had the common sense and credibility to see that Slater is absolutely useless and voted against her, is absolutely unbelievable but again shows that the SNP are merely sheep without a mind of their own and can only play follow the leader.
