‘Today’s match at Aberdeen / Celtic / Dundee United / St Mirren / St Johnstone / Motherwell / Hibs / Hearts / Rangers / Kilmarnock / Ross County / Livingston will be pay at the gate’.

Hi, I'm a Dundee fan, what is this e-ticket thing everyone keeps moaning about?

Was it ever a 5 and a quarter?

No. By the time the first general use GUI’s came into use, roughly mid-1980’s, the 3.5” floppy standard had just been adopted and it was thus used for the first GUI save icon. The 5.25” was already on its way out, much like the 8” had all but disappeared by 1982. The reason was size for the 8” disk and capacity for the 5.25” disc. The 5.25” maxed at about 360KB, while the 8” could hold up to 1.2MB, but was too wide for the average desktop case. The 3.25” started with 360KB, quickly jumped to 720KB, and finally topped out at 1.44MB. Also, the advantage of a hard case versus the actually floppy floppy was a winner.

I know this isn’t a saying - but do the younger generation know that our school week was Monday - Friday, 9am to 4pm, and we never got zillions of days off for pesky viruses, election days, teachers going on strike, or any number of shite excuses for not putting in a full week.

Not advocating the return of the belt, but a Mitre Mouldmaster square in the haw-maws, on a blaes pitch, in February, in 2c temps and sleet, while wearing black gutties and a wafer-thin gym T Shirt would sort out these soft wee fcukers these days. 😎

Luxury! We used to have to get out of the lake at three o'clock in the morning etc....
