Did you read the attempt at an advert?

Mentions the Wosfl so no cop outs from glensmad before we start.

Now't do with us........and all that.

For a lot of clubs from old mining villages you'd think they'd be on the ball when it came to giving someone a proper paid job.

But no, let's go down the gig economy route also know as self employment. What an embarrassing situation. Let's find some poor mug to work themselves senseless to do what none of the Blazers could do.

Find some sponsorship.

Have to agree with this. A poor show. It seems that the problem with this tournament is that no-one wants to take over the running of it.

Also, why is the draw regionalised? One of the appeals of the SJC was/is the potential for a draw anywhere in the country. This tournament is intrinsically regionalised in being the South Challenge Cup. I know I've been stirring it by saying the SJC is better, of course the calibre of club in this one is higher but it will never get out the bit rolling on like this.

Believe the regional part was to cut costs especially as there was no help with travel.

They should make it voluntary then. Works for the Scottish Junior Cup.

There is help with travel. It comes from the competition committee rather than the gate or the home team having to cover the guarantee.

It's regionalised to help minimise the costs.

Scotland is not a vast country. Again the tournament is already regionalised within Scotland. Like this, it's a glorified Sectional/Jackie Scarlett cup.

Aboot bloody time.

First thing change the stupid name; suggestion box anyone?

If anyone from outwith the committees takes that role they need their head looked at. I suspect it's one of those "we need to advertise it" things. One of the committee guys will take it on IMO. Hopefully it will be announced on here in the same manner, whoever takes it.

Agree obviously with getting sponsorship.

Serious doubts about a job in Scottish football being advertised along the lines of selling Avon.

165 teams at £200 each = 33K plus a commission from the sponsorship.

The person and the clubs win then financially if it works out.

Can't help but think the beauty of tournaments like this should be the prospect of playing someone different from the get go , kind of realise why they've regionalised the first few rounds to cut down in expenses but if we beat ardeer then face Clydebank in a 50/50 then can't help but feel it's just like a West of Scotland cup,  start with a new name like the Scottish non league vase /cup  and chase sponsorship and do this cup properly and it could be a winner .

Should this Cup and the Junior Cup be combined and make it one competition? It would certainly help with sponsorship.

Good luck telling the dinosaurs it makes sense. drop the junior and south tags and the two into one would be a great idea.

You should be asking for a commission before writing this.

With 80 out of the 160+ teams it would feel like a WoSFL Cup regardless.

Teams in the SW/NE get the best mix of leagues SW = 27/40 west teams, NE = 13/40 west teams. NW is basically a west section with 40/41. SE having none.

Even if there's no posts on social media, the website is decent enough and has been updated with the full draw:

If you want to be playing someone different then you basically need to enforce a east v west draw, just making it open won't work. In the Junior Cup last season only 19/44 and 14/32 ties in the opening rounds were between WOS v Midlands/North teams. Not surprising when basically half the teams in these two cups are WOS.

Though not sure Coupar Angus will have appreciated the beauty of the tournament last season that much when they lost 8-0 and had to pay Beith's £170 guarantee plus the ref from their (small) crowd.

The SRCC doesn't have a big sponsor or a large bank account balance to pay all the travel guarantees, so understandable why it is regionalised.
