Edwards said don't send anything illegal. This makes the whole thing sound premeditated, and that he was sowing the seed of a "I didn't know, honest!!!!" defence in case he was caught. Quote The man who shared indecent images of children with ex-BBC presenter Huw Edwards was 25-year-old convicted paedophile Alex Williams, the Metropolitan Police said. The images, shared with Edwards by Williams via WhatsApp, came to light during an unrelated investigation by South Wales Police. Edwards’ case was then passed to the Metropolitan Police, who arrested the veteran TV presenter in November last year. The Met Police said Williams, of Merthyr Tydfil, south Wales, pleaded guilty to possessing and distributing category A, B and C images as well as possessing prohibited images of children. Williams was convicted of seven offences – receiving a 12-month suspended sentence on March 15. On Tuesday, Edwards admitted three charges of “making” indecent photographs after receiving the images from Williams Westminster Magistrates’ Court was told seven of the indecent images shared with the veteran broadcaster by Williams were of the most serious type. If the guy passing on the images only received a suspended sentence then you'd have to think Edwards will also receive a suspended sentence and shorter too. As a man in his early fifties, with a daughter in her mid- twenties, I find it weird/unnatural/sick when I hear folk in my age group lusting after girls my lassies age, never mind any younger. These guys are closer in age to being these kids' grandad than dad, yet they are attracted to them sexually. It just blows my mind that folk can think that way. I kinda get the 'abused become the abusers' thing for those who have been vulnerable and abused earlier in life to an extent, but 99% of the population know right from wrong and a large percentage of them have no such reasoning or excuse. Just sick, sick minds. With regards to Edwards in particular, although he proclaims to have told the other guy not to send him underage pics, (according to the court stuff so far), he's quite obviously been moving in very shady circles to have become acquainted with him in the first place. That these folk get away with their crimes without incarceration is just plain wrong. They need removed from society for the safety of our youths.
