Injuries

Kelly and Clark are fortunate that they are first team goalies let alone internationalists.  Have watched both closely since I heard Gunn was injured and not at all impressed.  I still think that Clarke was at Hampden yesterday to watch Marshall - not a great option but at least experienced.

Why is the current crop of Scottish goalies so poor.....all top clubs have Academies with dedicated Goalkeeping coaches yet we dont seem to have anyone at present good enough for club football let alone the international side

Aaron Hickey will be out until 2024 with a hamstring injury. It's a good thing we're already qualified.

This is exactly why I couldn't understand any person wanting Norway to beat Spain last month - it would be terrifying to be heading into vital games missing so many players, especially so many in the same position. Obviously these games are still important to an extent, but the main thing is to qualify first and worry about seeding and everything else later.

Fortunately we can still have Taylor and Patterson in the full-back/wing-back positions so it's not terminal, but the drop off on both sides is substantial.

I totally agree. Missing a lot of players in the same few positions now, I am glad we got the job done so it’s not as bad as it might have been if we still needed points.

Seeding-wise, the only result people would have wanted - surely - was a draw, which would have both qualified us AND kept us in with a really strong chance of winning the group?

I think a few people were as you say wanting Norway to beat Spain - but more so we could then seal qualification under our own steam (which I agree is blasé/bonkers).

Ross Stewart finally played yesterday!!!!

Only a few minutes at the end but great news anyway

The only forward player with a chance of breaking into next summers 23

Think it’s gonna come too soon for Doak

He needed a real breakthrough at Liverpool to already have started

Time will tell but happy for Ross Stewart

We could do with another option

I have noticed that Brentford are going through a terrible run and it seems to have coincided with Aaron Hickey's absence - is he out for long?  havent seen anything online regarding his injury.

I just think Hickey is a tremendous footballer and clearly Brentford miss him - as did Scotland when he wasnt available.

Kevin Nisbet has picked up a hamstring injury unfortunately for him. Not sure how long he'll be out for yet. Still too early to be catastrophic for his chance of going to the Euro's (~14 weeks) but it remains to be seen if it puts his hopes for March at risk (~6 weeks).

Nizzy has got a hamstring injury and it looks a fairly significant one. He’s going to see a specialist next week to get the full extent of the damage and exactly how long he will be out. He’s definitely out for the forseeable.

Currently Kieran Tierney, Aaron Hickey, Greg Taylor and now Kevin Nisbet are our players who are injured.

He's a wee bam with a shite attitude so it's a no from me. He's also a jobber.

Have I missed something? He always came across as a decent guy and I don't remember any attitude issues?

Don't think he makes the cut for the squad tho.

Every time he didn't get a move from Hibs he'd go in a huff and I never liked that.

The crux of it is this, and it's petty as f**k. He was outstanding at youth level for us and when he made the first team he thought he'd made it and proceeded to do f**k all. So began a heroes journey through the leagues where he was the best striker in the league playing for Dunfermline before heading to Hibs. It still rankles that we developed him and never saw the fruit of that.

So aye. Pure bias and petty as hell.

You received development payments when he went to millwall

If it makes you feel any better we’ve blown his transfer money on a 4g pitch and some kids teams.
