Regan Hendry did a podcast recently and he was at FGR when Ferguson came in. From what I recall, they were doing small sided games and Hendry got left out completely, and when he asked why Ferguson basically pleaded ignorance over who he was even though he'd started most of the games for them that season. Naturally, Hendry knew the writing was on the wall and asked to go out on loan.

Was about to say something similar - don't know much about his spell at Forest Green other than him bombing out one of the few players who were actually playing well that season then sending him off on loan.

Got to assume he was hired purely because the chairman is a massive Sevconian.

He played about 20 games for Rangers 30 years ago.

I wish fans of other clubs would stop linking everything to either Rangers or Celtic. It’s an embarrassing mentality to have.

Checking the records and he still has an 8 game ban hanging over him so won't be on the touchline at ICT for the first two months.

Thankfully he already took on the SFA and won on this matter as he knew he would be back to manage The Caley one day.

You're right generally, but this is Scot Gardiner we're talking about. An extremely staunch man, a former Rangers employee, appointed John Brown as Dundee manager, came up with the idea of ICT having an orange kit then released it on 12th July. Everything he does is with Rangers in mind, and if he can't find someone with a Rangers connection he'll get someone with a Hearts connection.

I wonder if McBookie has odds on a picture of the king now being placed above the captains seat in the changing room?

Didn’t he also try to do a deal at the Covid season which would’ve seen the Caley get less prize money, but would also have stopped Celtic being declared champions?
