Apart from Dundee United, we're the only other club in the league that anyone cares about, outwith the other clubs in the leagues own fans.

Nobody gives a toss about ICT. If Ferguson became manager of any of the teams in the championship they would get the same reaction.

They absolutely wouldn't. Us and United are fairly box office.

Some people really don't like the idea of a rugged, working-class Scottish man excelling in his field and then choosing to keep challenging himself even though he is financially set for life and a club legend elsewhere.

We saw it with Sir Yogi to a similar extent: a salt-of-the-earth, normal guy who doesn't speak 'proper English', for which he continues to be looked down upon by members of this forum and people elsewhere. But Yogi achieved more than 99% of Scottish football managers ever will. He won The Caley the Scottish Cup, finished third in the league with The Caley and took The Caley into Europe while playing swashbuckling, technically excellent football. If his name was Juan Husondo he would be lauded for his achievements. But the class snobbery and tall poppy syndrome of many in Scottish football prevented that from happening.

And now we see the same thing occurring with Mr. Ferguson. Fans of absolute no-mark clubs - your Mortons, your Arbroaths, your Raith Roverses - are pretending they know what a quality manager looks like despite having become inured to watching utter shite and seeing their clubs achieve nothing over the past twenty years at least.

Right-thinking fans of The Caley know what potential looks like: we saw it with Steve Paterson, we saw it with John Robertson, we saw it with Terry Butcher, we saw it with Sir Yogi. Nobody else saw it. And now we see it clearly with Mr. Ferguson. The Caley will see you soon.

I love John Hughes tbf

Very eloquently put. Can’t really disagree with any of it. Looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

If you think he'll be signing Everton youth players on loan then I imagine you'll be disappointed.

If Everton's first team are anything to go by I'm not sure you would want anyone not able to get a game amongst what seems to be 15 Sunday league players on massive coin.
