coprolite
They've won! The new force in British politics with a headline photo story on the BBC has secured a massive victory in a council ward taking their total number of councillors into single figures. They're still three behind the workers party (currently not mentioned in any bbc article covering the results) and 24 behind "Residents Association". Whatever the f**k that might be. A massive, seismic shift in grass root politics here.
BFTD
True, in so much as the Conservatives will need to veer even further right for REFUK to stand down. In terms of winning seats anywhere? Not so much, apparently. Nice try though, BBC.

Fullerene
I love how they say cut immigration and raise wages and everybody cheers and says everybody deserves a decent wage but when Mick Lynch says his workers need a pay rise and everybody deserves a decent wage they say that would be nice but it can't happen because it would fuel inflation.

They have doubled their numbers just like that. If that keeps happening year on year then it won't be long before they will have more councillors than the entire population of the world.

RH33
Had bbs news on, in areas where reform stood Tories lost 19% vote and Reform picked up 11% (still not enough win more than three seats). I'm guessing turnout will be in the low 30% across the board but haven't seen it reported.
Dan Steele
It must be hard for Reform to compete against the other big two strident Right wing parties, though.

They have no real political standing in Scotland other than Ballantyne. I don't know how the other British countries Wales and Northern Ireland figure as far as Reform is concerned. So really Reform is firmly rooted in england and should drop the UK from their title, and their present popularity is owed to the mess the tories are in where tory voters instead of showing their displeasure with the westminster government by voting Lib Dem will put their votes to Reform. Plus Holyrood is based on a PR system where minorities such as the Greens and lib Dems struggle to get reasonable numbers elected, other than disenchanted tories Reform would struggle to get numbers in Scotland.

If there is a prospect of "Reform UK" standing in Holyrood elections and splitting a chunk of votes off the Tories, meaning they end up with fewer list seats, it might be worth them giving it a go.

So you think replacing the likes of Murdo Frase,r ( idiot), with an extreme right wing pro brexit racist would be good for Scotland? it's hardly like for like. Reform are english nationalists at the end of the day and you will recall how one reform prospective candidate said, " Scotland is like a turd that won't flush. There is absolute nothing Reform have to offer the Scottish people other that fascist style policies.

If RUK took votes from the Tories, I reckon that neither of them would get enough votes to get seats on the list. More likely that SNP, Labour, Libdem or Greens would get them.

Edinburgh City have a style and tactics that people have been crying out for. If the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid don't come to Edinburgh and see what it is all about then they can forget about winning trophies for the foreseeable future."
