Quite funny on Michael Marra's Twitter feed where he tried to have a go about the event Yousaf was at today - and made an arse of himself- as usual.

He's forgets that the last time Labour ran Scotland they built a grand total of 6 houses in the whole of Scotland in one year and managed a whole 340 in their entire term.

This seems an extraordinary thing to say, but Ash Regan's decision to defect to Alba looks like a masterstroke. She should end up with far more influence on the Scottish Government this time next week than she ever did in the Cabinet

You make a valid point. But 20 years old.

And in the intervening time the incumbents have managed to muck up the private rented sector for both landlords and tenants while at the same time denuding Councils of any money to deal with housing, preferring to channel it to Housing Associations who don’t build fast enough.

They’ve done nothing to “muck up the private rental sector for landlords”, and if they had it would have been exactly what landlords deserved. The rent freeze didn’t go far enough and it’s now ended with little chance of being reintroduced anytime soon.

It’s a bit of an oxymoron to say they’ve done nothing but at the same time given landlords what they deserved, but I’ll take it at face value for now.  Can you show me your workings to back up your assertions please?

I was saying IF they had mucked up the private rental sector it would be what landlords deserved.

Expect to see a lot of coverage of Kate Forbes in the coming days, and especially from those who wish to consign the SNP to the pages of history.

Erm yes because Team Continuity Nicola has done such a sterling job of running the show.

If the SNP get through the two votes with no casualties, all they have to do is propose a couple of credible, popular policies that have to go to a vote in the chamber.
If they get through, it sends a signal that they are still a capable government.
What is more likely, Sarwar will be so thick, he’ll block it, making him look like he’s siding with Conservatives. The Conservatives will block it because they have no credibility and nothing to lose anyway.
Surviving with no casualties and coming up with sensible policies may be the biggest challenge to that plan. Ross being a dick and Sarwar being dense as f**k are a given.

So what you are saying is this is Willie Rennie's moment?

The Humza will no doubt be scrabbling around now trying to offer the Greens a 'deal'...result will be the Greens doing a complete U-turn and abstaining next week..making Ash Regan utterly irrelevant.

Meanwhile Yousaf will go on without a coalition with the Greens but still beholden to them to promote their 'policies'.

Rum to see Alba potentially having such power here. Their poll standing remains flattening just above zero. Nobody but Wings Mad Stu's btl followers think it will ever gain any elected representatives except through defections.

I'm sure this 10th hot take of yours in the past 24 hours will pan out better than all the previous ones.

Farcical when not even voted for.

Defection should mean by-election - no exceptions.

A good indicator of someone's value to independence is how many staunch Unionists proclaim "I don't agree with their politics, but I have a lot of time for <x>".

It seems to be the equivalent of P&B being delighted by the idea of Liz Truss becoming Prime Minister.
