NotThePars
Clipping a baby's nails is one of the most nerve-wracking things an adult will ever have to do. The injury/guilt potential is huge. Try clipping a kitten's claws. Horrible. Felt so much guilt.

KnightswoodBear
My post wasn't funny in the slightest, on reflection. So I've deleted it.
Kennboy1978
Because they were growing too long? Do they not use every other bit of furniture in the house (but ignore the scratching post) to shorten them ?
NotThePars
Do they not use every other bit of furniture in the house (but ignore the scratching post) to shorten them ? They're actually quite well trained when it comes to that. It was my ex's kitten and she has a pain disorder so it's best to try and keep the claws a bit blunt.

NotThePars
Cats sort their own nails out by clawing at scratching posts, sofas etc. Cutting a cats claws is absolute nonsense. Except when they don't sort their own nails out. Especially when they're kittens and a bit thick, like ours was. Obviously what's going on here is that you wouldn't dare go near yours cause they'd give you a doing.

Miguel Sanchez
There are three types of people in the world. - People who use public transport properly. - People who stand up when the train is leaving the penultimate station of their journey. Before it's in the tunnel even, they're standing at the door. When the carriage has three people in it. - People who get up to get off the carriage when the train has been stopped with the doors open for several seconds and who decide to go through the door that's further away from where they're sitting. One day there will only be one type of person in the world because I'll have killed all the others.

I have in the past been known to wipe a bogey on to the missus without her noticing. Then just a smile until she realises the nature of the violation that has occurred. (Also related to nail clipping I was once pretending to clip said missus (early doors girlfriend at this stage) with a good, solid standard size of clippers. I accidently then caught her and absolutely shat myself as she literally cried. I've never felt guilt like it.) Wiping bogeys on folk is detestable behaviour. It's utterly abhorrent and I flinch in absolute horror at the type of mind of an adult who would do such a thing. Genuinely abysmal, jakey, arsehole stuff. Anyway, on the topic of guilt, I once filled a jug with water and put it on top of the ajar door and called my ex in to the room. I very quickly stopped laughing once I saw she was crying. She was at mine before we were going out and and hadn't brought a change of clothes. I had to use her hairdryer to dry her. This isn't why she's my ex incidentally, and I never did it again as the guilt was too much. Edited March 9, 2017 by DA Baracus

Miguel Sanchez
Also in addition to the last few pages, I can only assume (hope) that someone deciding that because their dad put toenail clippings in their pockets they're going to do the same thing to their child because of how angry it made them is posting the stuff of appalling fantasy. What the f**k is wrong with you?
BFTD
We had an old cat who trimmed his own claws. Seemed to hold the end between his teeth and pull hard until it snapped, and you'd hear a wee "chink!" noise as the end flew across the room and hit a window/vase/artificial limb. No idea how he fired the wee projectiles around, considering the tip of the claw was in his mouth, but he managed it, the manky wee sod. Didn't even pick them up after. Still, I don't think he ever wiped his snotters on anybody's back, so he was more domesticated than some folk.

What the f**k is wrong with you? I agree with this. I like to think I've learned a lot from my dad's mistakes - which didn't include putting toenails in my pockets ffs - and do my best to avoid those traits rather than just copy him because he's my da. I don't seem to have done too well in avoiding the womanising, binge drinking side of things right enough.
