Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

Recommended Posts

People calling their shopping/groceries "messages" where tf did that originate from? It's creepy and it's not part of your personality, stop it.
I feel like you've outed yourself as an absolute bellend over the last few days so it annoys me that I agree with you here.

Nae pockets in shrouds.

true but shouldn't complain when they fail to save for the future. It's always someone elses problem isn't it.

I've regularly denied myself things i want and can afford for saving or creating a better future for my family, yet i see folk with no pensions no nothing and they couldn't care less living like superstars.

complete failure to separate "want" from "need".

Nobody under the age of 100 uses the word messages. If you do, you’re not under 100 or have a degenerative brain disease.

The end.

^^ The Message, just in case any heathens don’t know what these finely-dressed gents are doing here.

It's those people that keep the world turning.

I mean messages is just a standard Scottish gran / parent phrase that will slowly slip out of usage as time passes. Other triteisms like what's for ye'll no go by ye etc will also follow a similar trajectory, and hopefully we'll reach the utopia before too long where every single human interaction will just be two spideys pointing at each other saying Mewling simp till the end of time.

Personal choice pal. Not sure why you're so bothered about it tbh.

I’m less than 100 but more than 55 years old. Am I allowed to say “messages” when talking about my weekly shop?

I’m hoping you are substituting many every day words with “messages” just to confuse the septics.

”I’ll have two messages over easy and a cup of messages, hen”

You'll just about get away with it,  but as you're in America you really should stick to the local vernacular

If he's in America then his messages must by law consist of a tall brown paper bag with a stick of celery poking out the top.

Yeah totally I'm aware of that. If i spent every penny i earned and more and my world came falling down i wouldn't be crying about having no savings, mortgage, pension and expect someone else to bail me out.

You are very detached from reality if you think that is what is happening.

For some it will be the case, but for what is almost certainly a much larger percentage it isn't and for them it really is a struggle.

You're coming across quite Tory here. Stupid poors shouldn't be stupid!
