Got this from M&S. Brewed according to German purity laws so just four ingredients. It's a basic German lager, but basic German lagers are very good at minimum.

Aye it's pretty much the same thing. Which, as you say, is very good. Mental how good they can get it with just four ingredients, but then they do literally have centuries of experimentation and experience.

Other than wheat beers that are fairly traditional, there's no need for anything else.

Anything else that gets added is in the pursuit of making a cheaper product more mass appeal type or adding nonsense flavours to make yer more hipstery end of the market, or its water treatment to adjust your local water to brew things that aren't suited to your locale. Hence why Czech and German pilsner styles have been shit hot forever. They just suit the water profile.

Not a fan of wheat beers!

Yup, can't go wrong with the traditional German purity style, although I do enjoy a lot of flavoured beers and do like the use of different hops when done well.

Wee sister (22) and her pals like four loko. Had a can once and it was more like an energy drink taste. Not too bad whatever flavour it was, but the increase in my heartrate was noticeable and I could feel my pulse in every part of my body from the stomach upwards for a good 10mins after I finished the can. Heart attack juice.

Not exactly the revolution/revelation I may have thought it could have been, turns out to be what you would expect. Initially full of cream and peanut butter like a slightly thinner milkshake, then the taste of the whiskey as it goes down (12% by vol). It weirdly feels like the flavours aren't really mixing. Like the aftertaste of cream and peanut butter are at one part of my mouth and the whiskey at a seperate part. Not sure I'd recommend it randomly, but if you like peanut butter and/or irish cream drinks then you'll probably like this.

^^Absolutely tremendous. If you've ever had Stay Puft Porter you'll love this as it's a huge upgrade on said beer.

^^A tad 'stouty'. Would be better as a porter but still very nice. Has a distinctive Biscoff taste.

^^Not bad, but peach doesn't lend itself to milkshake I think, so a milkshake IPA with peach is a bit 'mid'. Drop the milkshake part and it would be a decent enough peach IPA.

^^Smell suggested a weak beer but taste was very good! Plum works very well as a beer flavour. It's sour but only a bit, nicely so I think. A very good effort here.

^^Good NEIPA. Has some grapefruit notes and I get a touch of citrus and even a smidge of pineapple. I like it.
