  1. Its really quite fucking simple, "If you go and get the vaccine when contacted, normal life will return" Say this. Keep saying this. Concentrate on delivering vaccine. Not delivery constantly pessimistic, contradictory shite from your sanctimonious wee soapbox/twitter/most bizzarely, Off the Ball

  2. So because VT has riled some people up, it’s then acceptable to use certain jobs, which other posters completely unrelated to the argument with VT will have, as a negative, embarrassing role to have to get back at him? Not for me, Jeff. As above. So if I’m a janitor (ignoring that janitors wouldn’t be maintaining boilers ) that has nothing to do with this argument, you think it’s fine to demean my job and make me feel like shite, as long as it gets a dig in at VT? Poor stuff. Lollipop man?

  3. What a long way we’ve come in a short space of time from setting up the LL. People scoffed and laughed at the time that it would fail and no clubs would be interested and now look at it. A couple of more seasons and the East and West will have their pyramids established how the members want things. Give it say 5 years and the LL should be a cracking division. Now we need to get the HL, NCL, NRJFA and Tayside teams to sort out the North, talks are surely ongoing. Hopefully we see the SPFL and LL open their trapdoors to allow free movement of teams between divisions too. In a decade we’ll wonder what all the fuss was about, personally I’m looking forward to seeing who can rise up the divisions. Ross County, ICT, Peterhead, Elgin (Tuesday’s only) Edinburgh City and Cove Rangers have all joined and established themselves and found their level so there’s no reason why a few more can’t do the same. It’ll be sad to see some historic established teams drop out but that’s football and there’s always a route back.

  4. Strange to think there's some guy sitting in Lagos just now with a fat pile of cash saying to himself "Hamilton Accies? What a bunch of Dundee Uniteds..."

  5. I don't know what more the Rangers could have done, there are plenty of pictures of them telling the culprits to go home. At one point the entire squad ran at the gates in a socially distanced manner to tell them to leave and pictures show arriving board members clearly gesturing the errant well wishers should get tae. #witchunt

  6. The fact it was a ridiculous suggestion was her whole point. It was to highlight the absurdity of the police advice to women. This advice was effectively don't go out and you won't be attacked by a strange man. Stop attacks by sanctioning potential victims, great idea, for how long? The fact the press and you didn't see the nuance comes as no surprise. The press have the excuse they need headlines to get clicks and sell papers. I can't come up with one for you.

  11. Yeah, you are wrong there, he is a list MSP so nobody voted for him, they voted for the Greens. Whereas Thomson was directly elected for a constituency seat. However, I'd love to see how you spin that Greer is in any way worse than Thomson. Go on, give it a shot.

  18. "For me it’s not a case of wanting to compete with Bo’ness United. But at the same time it’s being able to continue playing football.” Theres two obvious options here to do that 1) Stop squatting on the Bo'ness United name gained in bad faith and enter the EOS as Linlithgow Thistle or some other name 2) Join the SAFA leagues and continue playing football in a different grade. Any other course of action and its clear that yet again what is being said and what is being done are two different things by this club

  21. Football is no different to any business. Open free markets without artificial barriers or protectionism helps drive innovation & competition, so ultimately improves the end product. A pyramid league structure allows all teams to find the right level for them. So there isn't a correct ratio of clubs per population, yes there should be certain standards, controls to avoid mismanagement, & each club needs sustainable business plans, but ultimately it should be left to the market and the consumer to decide how many senior football clubs a town can support. Some clubs will be successful, some less so, but they will all find their place.

  25. That appears to assume that most Rangers fans stayed in the local area, and likewise that most Celtic fans stay in the local area. Which anyone who knows anything about Scottish football would tell you isn't the case. The point about St Mirren and Langbank is laughable too. Stirling has the highest rates of infection in the country at the moment, so I can only assume that the Binos are to blame for that one. Just because a town close to a football stadium has high rates doesn't make there a link. Bizarre stuff.

  28. We're in the third tier, and it's fucking March. Do people honestly expect us, or for that matter anyone in our league to be signing "prolific" goalscorers? McCall is hardly about to unveil Liam Boyce, Osman Sow and Keemar Roofe is he?

  29. My own debt story started in about 2011. I was the only one earning a wage at the time and cash was tight. Just after Christmas - the time we were always at our most skint - my car broke and I needed £350 to fix it. I had little credit history and it seemed easier (hindsight, I know) to go online to Wonga and take the money out there. I was in the trap. Come next payday there was a big hole in our finances. Having used a payday lender no normal creditors would touch me. So I took out another to cover the hole in the finances, but this made the next hole a month later bigger. Over the next few years I borrowed loads from these companies. I was financially stupid - I'm blaming nobody but myself here. I also borrowed bigger loans from Everyday Loans, Avant Credit, OnStride...I was in a debt hole. It came to a head for me in 2017 when I was once again applying for a loan with Savvy. They told me that they had worked out that once I'd paid my bills and loans I was still in deficit. This was shock 1. Shock 2 was when they then told me that they would lend me money but at a much higher interest rate. I was bricking it. Come payday I would have no money for food, petrol etc. This was getting serious. So I called StepChange. Angels. Put me on a Debt Payment Plan that was paid off last August. I am debt free now. Also, in the interim claimed against the lenders who had loaned me money when they shouldn't. Got big refunds (the interest I paid) from Everyday Loans, Peachy, Sunny and a couple of others. The story hasn't ended sadly. Legally my debt is paid off but three lenders (OnStride, Avant Credit and Peachy) keep contacting me saying I have an outstanding balance. I don't. Accountancy in Bankruptcy Scotland have even been on at them to no avail. Avant even called in a debt collector, but when I sent them the completion letter they backed off. I have raised disputes with the credit reference agencies and put in complaints to the financial ombudsman. This year was the first Christmas where I literally didn't worry about money. Cold day in hell before I take out a loan again.

  30. Quite regularly throughout this thread, people have made wild accusations accusing other of wanting this harsh restriction in place, and of being scared of x, y and z and how pathetic they are. I was accused the other night of being paranoid about restrictions being lifted, then subsequently told my concern for, and observations about, the mental wellbeing of my own kids, meant I didn't give a f**k about adults. It's partisan nonsense. And zero hard feelings. This whole shitshow is a nightmare for everyone in their own way. Literally the only evidence of this, is that some people haven't been quite as gung ho with the critisicsm, or anti the pronouncements, or lengthy posts expressing outrage, disgust, anger at Devi and Co. Any pushback on that is taken to mean much much more than it actually means, and it all snowballs out of control. Or have wanted to wait and see a bit more before firing off both barrels into the media crafted opinions of the latest public enemy. Or wanted to see the actual science beifre making decisions. Fact is, we're all really on the same page. It's a manufactured division, grouping people into "teams" utterly ridiculously, because every single one of us wants the same things.

  34. Deeply worrying comments from Leitch about cases. It shouldn’t be a problem, but the fact they’re already talking about needing a reverse gear for the tiers is dreadful chat. I just can’t get my head around what they’re trying to achieve. All along it was protect the NHS and save lives, the vaccine is now doing that. Life will literally be like this forever if they base restrictions on case levels. Even if they were to go after ‘elimination’, there’s heehaw chance of that happening as soon as the infection factories are open.

  36. You young ones don't know you're living. I hark back to the Texaco cup games against Stoke Tottenham and Norwich. Norwich in particular, 6 of us in the back of an old Bedford van with a mattress in the back. Can still remember the pong as someone had severe flatulence due to the amount of swally he had. Had to follow rivers all the way home from Carlisle on the back roads as the radiator sprung a leak and we had to keep topping it up every 10 miles. Reached Abington before it finally gave up and we hitched it back to Motherwell in the back of a cattle truck. Happy days

  38. The Sky journalist wasn't even claiming to be ITK, just expressing his own (terrible) opinion. Hendry wouldn't really getting parachuted in given that he already has several caps and actually generally did fairly well in them. The whole notion of there being some queue that is being jumped is daft anyway, getting called up for Scotland isn't some sort of lifetime achievement award.

  40. That to me is the basic issue here and not Bo'ness as a town being capable of having x number of clubs. They erased their own identity as an amateur and they've tried to get a foothold in a completely new town by latching on to an existing club.

  41. Barbers opening next week in Wales, as are garden centres and some retail the week after. Going by the article, all shops to open in a few weeks in line with England’s date of 12th April. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-56363367 You would like to think when Nicola does her updated roadmap next week, she is better advised that the awful outline she delivered last month. Stop fantasising about unknown variants and start to “read the room” better and match great vaccine figures with a few grown-up things being reopened, since churches and schools appear to be fine.
