The wife and I used to go the King Malcolm pub quiz (and their Entertainment Quiz on a Sunday) before her work got a bit mental. We won our first quiz, which led people to believe we were ringers but we just had a great guess in the final round. Settled into mediocrity with the odd win or placing after that. I know in Edinburgh construction noise is only allowed 7am-7pm Monday-Saturday, but no idea if that extends to domestic properties. I’ve posted about it before, but the flat below are getting it re-done whilst living elsewhere and have hired contractors. Every night Monday-Friday for the past three weeks (and for god knows how long it’ll go on for as it’s a rip it out and start again job) and are literally hammering, drilling etc until after 11pm every night. Its operating costs are more than it collects from fares as it tries to expand into new sectors. It spends a fucking ridiculous amount on marketing.
