Swarley
I didn’t tell her, she was going one way to the shop which was a good 5-10 minute walk and I was going to the car to strap the child in then as I passed the toilet I decided I needed a pee thinking she would be longer at the shop but then when I got out the toilet there she was staring at me looking rather unimpressed: Should have just locked the kid in the car then headed back to the toilet for a slash....

SlipperyP
Not many will know this but, North Berwick and Praia da Luz. was a twin town. They used to have boat/ferry service for the Portuguese fisherman/human traffickers back in 1843. This was changed because the Daily Record investigation. They then became twin with Kerteminde, hence the freedom of Brian Laudrup signing happening at the flash of and eyelid and Jorge Cadete having to wait several years.

Could have been a lot worse. He became Batman because he was looking for a disguise and a bat flew in through the window. Had things happened differently he might now be Mothman. With Dunfermline being twinned with Trondheim, they opened a new street at the time (60s I think) called Trondheim Parkway in the Abbeyview area, which has a bad rep locally. The local councillor at the time suggested that the mayor equivalent of Trondheim come over to formally open it by cutting a ribbon or whatever in order to make the ancient link more than just name. After the Dunfermline councillor was invited across to Norway first, during which he was given a well-treated jolly, the guy from Trondheim came over to Dunfermline for the opening. He then took one look at the street (see photo below) and being rather insulted by the place, promptly f***ed off. This became one of the worst areas of one of the worst areas in Fife and the entirety of the street has since been demolished already to make space for something more respectable. #funfacts #coolstorybro Edited July 25, 2019 by Hedgecutter

This became one of the worst areas of one of the worst areas in Fife and to give you an idea of the place, the entire road was flattened by bulldozer to make space for some rather respectable looking houses. Parkway(was it not called Trondhiem Drive) is still there, as you said just knocked down and redeveloped. Same folk different houses. Got a few contacts in and around the area, if one is in help.

Doesn't surprise me if they just want to call it Parkway now to rid themselves of any association. £200k+ houses in Scabby View now. Wow.

I've had to replace the button operation before and they're a pointless pain in the arse, all moulded plastic and you have to cut the replacement to fit, a bit randomly in my case, and the rest of the mechanism isn't accessible without ripping it apart. Doubt they save much water as most people just bash the buttons until it fucking works. In the olden days anyone could fix the ball cock system by bending a bit of wire or using a bit of string. Glad to have been of help. P.S. @Zen Archer Edited July 27, 2019 by welshbairn

Glad to have been of help. P.S. @Zen Archer I agree that the old 'siphon' mechanism was simple to maintain, the new (invented in 1960) dual flush system appears to be a throw away replacement, I haven't heard of anyone successfully maintain one.
