vikingTON
Some absolute cretin interviewed in the middle of the M80 jam for the One O'Clock News, who left Aberdeen at 4pm yesterday and became trapped heading back from Glasgow at 8, despite all warnings and clear advice not to fucking travel in the Central Belt. The archetypal idiot car driver whose sense of entitlement is currently drawing emergency service resources away from where they are needed in the community. I've got as much sympathy for his battle against hypothermia as for the German armies stuck outside Moscow in 1941. peasy23
Regarding work, my understanding from my shop steward days is that if your employer decides to close then they will still have to pay you. If they remain open but you can't safely make it in, then they can't force you to use annual leave. You should have the option of taking it if you want but you should also be able to take it as authorised unpaid leave or come to an arrangement to work back the hours lost.
jagfox
Also if you have dependents at nursery or school and they’re sent home you are also entitled to emergency leave.
peasy23
Firstbus Glasgow have tweeted that they are running some limited services. Cue the inevitable list of stupid questions in reply despite the info in their tweets being crystal clear.
EdinburghPar1975
Seen a tweet from Edinburgh Airport saying they're shutting down at 6 this evening to get ready for tomorrow as they're expecting more issues. Seems weird that they're shutting it down again (didn't even know it had re-opened!)

Mark Connolly
Just received the "Don't come into work until Monday" email. Very nice that for once it's not a disciplinary thing...
MONKMAN
Yesterday my girlfriend had a training day at her work cancelled, as the trainer was meant to be driving down from Ayr. As a result, we spent yesterday building a snowman and drinking wine. I love snow.
vikingTON
Whiteout conditions in the Clyde Riviera again after pretty much constant snowfall yesterday. There looks like being about a foot of snow on the ground at the moment, which is comfortably the biggest snowfall I've seen here and a ridiculous total from an easterly. The icicles forming everywhere are going to send the 'perfect crime' murder rate through the roof this weekend.
gc_smfc
Walked along Dumbarton Road enroute to the pub. Strange to see the bed shop, mortgage advisors and nail saloons open but half the pubs closed.
dee_62
half the village working from home today - ideal opportunity to have an orchestrated switch off of laptops at 4pm and nip over to the local.....but it's shut "because of the weather". I hate the snow.
Bert Raccoon
Another day off so braved the conditions to go get a panini and ten cans of Tennents. These last two days have been a great insight into why Russians are all mad alcoholics.
the jambo-rocker
I booked tickets to see Dylan Moran at the Stand tonight, and against all this fucking snow they're still going for it. Also because mrs jambo-rocker is Dylan Moran daft, it looks like we're walking there.
Honest Saints Fan
The 2cm we've had is currently thawing. I am meant to be going to #perthshire in the morning with the wee one but looking very doubtful. My maw has 12 inches in her back garden currently
